Hi Sage, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
Creating art has always been something I loved doing. I wanted to find a way to make people happy and represent what I create, and I thought manufacturing art-driven apparel was a good idea. With doing this and creating business just off of what I put on a piece of paper truly amazes me. It makes me happy I can form all these elements together into a company.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Absolutely not. Running a business is hard and is a full-time job. The biggest struggles I had were marketing/promotion methods. I didn’t realize how critical it is to market your product to the people; without it there is little to no sales.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a full-time college student, but also sell apparel with my art on it. I draw whatever comes to my mind, and mircon pens are my go-to. I have always loved the street art aesthetic, so I would say it is a huge influence to my style of creating. Sketching with pencils is something I also enjoy. I believe my apparel is set apart from many because the graphics are all handmade and took great amounts of time and thought to do. When you represent WE THE EMPIRE CO., you are exposing the hardwork artists put into their creations, and that is priceless.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
My main mission is to create something that everyone feels good wearing. Supporting brands isn’t all about buying/selling but simple gestures like reposting an Instagram post or liking/following media accounts. Even as little as a text message or DM telling the company how much you appreciate what they’re doing is amazing. It does nothing but make us further believe in what we’re doing.
