Today we’d like to introduce you to Sing Phanomsack
Hi Sing, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Hi, my name is Sing & I received my cosmetology license in 2012 in the state of Arkansas with the intention of becoming a hairstylist. The shop I was working at the time also offered nail services which is how I ended up learning how to do nails too.
In 2017, my husband and I made the decision to move back to California to be closer to family. The goal for me was to focus on getting better at acrylics and nail art so I worked for a few different shops in the SD area but wasn’t quite satisfied with how things were being ran. Four years later & only a handful of clients, I made the decision to rent a tiny room inside of a barbershop and turned it into a beautiful escape that my clients and I can enjoy.
For almost 2 years of working for myself and building up a steady clientele, I realized that I was capable of handling something bigger. I found a storefront in Spring Valley that checked all the boxes and signed a contract in July of 2023. Within 2 months we were able to renovate and create a comfortable safe haven for clients to lounge and be pampered by some of our amazing nail techs. We’ve been thriving ever since.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road was definitely bumpy. Lol. Most of struggles were just dealing with cosmetic issues. The biggest one was when we had to fix our window due to a random unprovoked vandalism.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialized in nail enhancements such as acrylics and builder gel aka hard gel. Best known for my hand painted nail designs. What sets me apart from others is that I’m actually pretty cool, I guess. Lol. I’m easy to get along with, very considerate of my clients time and always try my best to give them exactly what they ask for.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
All my favorite childhood memories revolve around food. Lol. We would gather with friends in the community and just feast on delicious asian meals. The kids got to play with each other while the adults mingled with one another.
