Today we’d like to introduce you to Smoke N’ Vic Sports Radio.
Hi Smoke N’ Vic , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
How we got to our current state is a bit of a long story to be honest. To keep it short and simple, it all really started with Kick it Labs. Kick it Labs has been running in Oceanside since 2020, but the sports podcast didn’t become a thing until 2025 all thanks to the Padres!. The sports broadcasting just began as a fan based review of the padres performance on a weekly basis that we called SD Pads’ Cast. That eventually evolved into Smoke N’ Vic Sports Radio where aside from covering Padres, we also began to engage on showcasing a lot of San Diego sports from teams who reside at the Frontwave Arena to teams who play at Snap Dragon stadium, and whatever else we can cover.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
When it comes to Live broadcasting the main thing to know is that you have to always remain calm on camera and keep your cool, the show must go on. Things never go as you plan, and that’s the one thing you have to be ready for. When you start off in any new venture you may not anticipate any set backs, but trust me they will happen. The thing that has helped our sports broadcast run nicely is Kick it Labs. They’ve been there since our very beginning supporting our vision and helping us out, even when some of our live broadcast episodes didn’t necessarily go as planned.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As mentioned earlier, our journey through the arts is a pretty long story. We won’t get into too many details but we’ll try to summarize the Smoke N’ Vic duo as best as possible. Our journey began in music, which transferred to podcast interview, that then morphed into sports journalism. We combined just about all our different experiences and skills. The result was two of a kind, but unique hard sports fans that enjoy to talk the talk. We are very proud of the show, our growth, and the shows development. One of our biggest moments in 2025 was hosting a Padres game watch party in the city of Vista at Pizza On Tap. Even though the Padres lost during the watch party, everyone who attended had a great time. The momentum we are starting to pick up is beautiful, the engagement and traction we see on line is like nothing we could have imagined. We are truly lucky to be a part of the San Diego sports community, we love San Diego and we Love Sports!. Our mission is to stay true to the local scene, and to continue to stand out as being a show that is made by fans for fans.
