Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephen M. Green
Hi Stephen M., so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am a content creator, filmmaker, and music producer, but you can just call me an artist. I am a visual person by nature. I like having the creative freedom to express myself through the lens or in the studio. Growing up, I have always been creative in some capacity. As time goes on, I will continue to prove myself and show that I am more than capable of creating projects that matter to not just me, but other people.
I currently live in San Diego and have a job to fund my creative endeavors.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Of course not. However, I do try to maintain a positive attitude and outlook on life. I am 24 now, so I have had lots of experiences. I don’t listen to critics. My philosophy is that people are going to say whatever they want about you. Both positive and negative. For example, I told one of my friends that I was going to start producing music, and they told me I was “doing too much.” Essentially, he said most public figures are known for one thing and one thing only, but I disagree. Look at someone like Donald Glover. He’s known for many things. As an artist, you shouldn’t limit your talents. That’s the beauty of being creative in general.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I plan, film, and edit all of my own videos for my self-titled YouTube channel. I have made skits, vlogs, short films, and many other types of content. In terms of being a music producer, I produce all of my own music by working on the overall production, mixing, and mastering of a song. I also have a passion for photography, and that has bled into my videos as I know how to set up shots that sometimes look like a photo within themselves. I am proud, but I know pride is one of the Seven Deadly Sins, so I tend to stop myself and realize how fortunate I am to be able to do what I do.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I will continue to hone my craft and improve my capabilities further, so with that, I have big plans for the future. Debut Album. Feature-length film? Anything’s possible. Aside from growing as an artist, I am growing as a person, which will definitely serve me well as I meet new people and have new experiences. Artificial intelligence will probably become more widely used in the future. I personally don’t like the concept of making something that has no human voice, no soul.
