Sydney Troxell

Hi Sydney, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
From a young age, I was captivated by the art of storytelling—whether through making home movies, writing stories, or simply letting my imagination roam. This journey led me to discover the joy of living fully in the present, a mindset that fuels my daily life with gratitude and inspiration. Life to me was always about following your passions and alongside photography was snowboarding! I took this undeniable passion inside of me to connect, capture, and snowboard to study in school at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ. I majored in Photography and Journalism and snowboarded as often as I could. As I entered the photography program I was drawn to editorial and studio style photography. Focusing on this type of photography led me to become technically sound in this niche. I knew I wanted to take photography into the snowboarding world and started shooting friends in the park. I’d consistently post on my page to showcase my work. After I graduated in 2018, I moved to San Diego after college in 2020, and decided I was going to break into this industry and become a common name as a successful content creator. Mindset is truly everything. I started my LLC SAUCEGIRLMEDIA and began my lifestyle brand photography business. I landed my first big name brand deal shooting goggles for Blenders Eyewear. This was a huge door opening moment for me and it was time to step into who I knew I could become. I immediately ran my first lifestyle shoot up in Mammoth (they were absolutely stoked on the product) and have been hired as a freelance creator every winter since! As I started to make a name for myself as a snow photographer I landed more brands to shoot lifestyle snow content as well as deals with Bayer in which I shot for Alka Seltzer and Flintstones Vitamin Gummies. Through Blenders I was introduced to LSKD, an Australian workout brand where I would shoot group workouts that then led me to shooting new drops and pieces that they wanted my style of photography for. These community events introduced me to a plethora of people that were mindset strong, and inspiring entrepreneurs. I was drawn to one gal specifically who I could just tell was a powerhouse herself, Scarlett Bentley. I am big on aura and energy as following your instinct is key to finding success. We connected immediately and come to find she ran her own marketing agency. I knew that my content would elevate her product as a marketer so we teamed up and have been taking over the marketing game for small business’s in San Diego! Scarlett was a great catalyst to the success I have found since as her presence matches mine and our synchronicity is magnetic. With consistent work flowing I have been able to fine tune my style and craft continuing hiring brands and uplifting their social media presence. My latest brand deal PNKYS a canned wine company breaking the norms of wine being fancy has been one of the most gratifying projects. I started with them at the launch of their brand and have designed engaging content that is catching the public eye and helping them grow at a rapid pace. Introducing them to powerhouses like Almost Nakey, aka Liv Johnson, who puts on the iconic festival SANTACON and getting them in as a main sponsor. One of the most rewarding parts of my career is the connections I’ve made with people—empowering and uplifting one another along the way. It takes a team. I truly believe all of this rapid success is due to the SAUCEGIRLMEDIA ideology. It’s about embracing joy in every moment, and bringing an infectious sense of fun to everything you do. Dipped in fun, dripping in energy, drenched in color. “Dipped in fun” means fully immersing yourself in experiences that spark happiness and excitement. “Dripping in energy” refers to living with a boundless enthusiasm and passion that radiates outward—it’s the kind of energy that can’t help but draw others in and keep things moving, lively, and unpredictable. “Drenched in color” symbolizes a life that’s unapologetically bold and expressive. It’s a visual metaphor for embracing vibrancy and creativity, where every aspect of life is painted with the brightest shades and most vivid moments—whether it’s your work, your style, or the way you interact with the world.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
If life were a smooth road, you’d never feel the true rewards of success. Of course, there have been struggles along the way, but I don’t see them as setbacks. I view roadblocks and challenging times as indicators that success is just around the corner. Life, after all, is about walking through the fire—because without fire, there would be no green on the other side.

The cycles of life constantly require resets and growth. Without the lows, there would be no highs. It’s simple science. Some of the toughest moments of adversity came when my internal dialogue was the loudest, especially during times when success still felt distant. When you feel like you have “nothing,” it’s easy to believe that you are lacking. But breaking that cycle—shifting my belief that I was “less than” and embracing the truth that I could create abundance—was the pivotal moment that changed everything for me.

Starting out in entrepreneurship with little to no money often made success feel far out of reach. But the reality is, success is often just a mindset shift away. Once I believed that I could achieve massive success through my art, and that abundance was within my reach, that’s when I began to see the fruits of my labor.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
SAUCEGIRLMEDIA is my beloved one of a kind content business that creates colorful, visually stimulating content designed to captivate and inspire.

What makes my craft special is my ability to capture the essence of all four seasons. As a 4-season content creator, I tailor my work to reflect the unique energy and beauty each season brings. From fun in the sun to snowboarding down a mountain I ensure every brand I shoot gets its moment to shine throughout the year, adapting to the changing landscape and mood of each season.

The SAUCEGIRLMEDIA ideology is about embracing joy in every moment, and bringing an infectious sense of fun to everything you do. Dipped in fun, dripping in energy, drenched in color is the slogan tagged to SAUCEGIRL.

My favorite childhood memory has to be making home movies and music videos with all the kids who lived on my cul-de-sac. I was blessed to grow up in a suburban neighborhood surrounded by the coolest most creative lil kids. We would write scripts, film, and put on movie premiers. My brother Drew was an extreme influence in me becoming a creative as he was the older one who always let the creative endeavors.
