Check Out Tara Cooper’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tara Cooper.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Floruit Fitness was birthed out of a desperate need to strengthen my relationship with myself. As a single mother flowing through the ups and downs of womanhood, I needed a deeper connection to my body in order to heal generational trauma and relationship wounds. It started with my fitness journey, I hired a trainer because I wanted to build my confidence, I needed the accountability, and I wanted to be stronger in order to show up for my son. As time progressed, I realized how much emotional healing I had accomplished through my physical fitness, which had an amazing impact on my overall wellbeing. I knew I was on to something, so I kept going. In 2023, I decided it was my divine purpose to create a safe space for women to thrive in fitness, so I dedicated my time and efforts to building what is now Floruit with Tara, which translates to Flourish with Tara. That is exactly what my clients and I do daily, we flourish into the best version of ourselves, and we continue to evolve even outside of the gym. Becoming a certified personal trainer was one of the best decisions I made in my life because I am able to nurture empowering relationships through the community I am building.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Transitioning into my life’s purpose though Floruit with Tara has not been easy to say the least. I have learned that my community is not for everyone and that is okay. I have learned that my clients have to align with my mission in order for us to have a successful partnership. I have learned to listen to my intuition in regard to red flags and people sent to harm/drain me. I have let go of people pleasing when it comes to my business because it takes away from the authentic connections I need to establish in order to help my clients reach their goals. I have learned in order to show up for others, I have to first take care of myself and show up for myself and not feel guilty about it. I have learned it is okay to make mistakes because what I learned was way more valuable than the actual mistake. I have learned every day is a beautiful opportunity to accept what is, the clarity that comes from this practice is indescribable and truly represents the results and transformations my clients have achieved.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a creative fitness professional specializing in Women’s Small Group training to help women flourish into their best self through community and accountability. My programs offer foundational core strengthening and stability, full body strengthening, conditioning, as well as confidence building. Although I offer small group training sessions each client is evaluated daily in order to support their fitness needs. Therefore I offer individualized modifications and form correction to establish a personalized workout in a group setting. The energy that is brought to each session is truly divine and unique and I believe that is what sets Floruit with Tara apart from the rest!

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Do not lose sight of myself, my morals, and values for the sake of others.
Listen to my intuition.
Stay close to God, through the good and the bad.
Be grateful for what is going well.
Always accept clients but pray for the discipline to handle the client load and guide them towards their highest potential.
With growth comes discomfort, but that is an amazing indication of leveling up!
