Today we’d like to introduce you to Yesenia Brambila Alarcon.
Hi Yesenia, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I believe my love for makeup started back in 2014. I’m a folklorico dancer & that required heavy stage makeup for performances. After highschool i decided to take a hair & makeup course in beauty school, that is what pushed me to love makeup even more. After graduating beauty school, covid had hit and during covid my creative side with makeup started to come, I purchased many palettes & products to practice on myself during the hard times of covid. From there the rest is history, I now work as a licensed beauty advisor in Sephora & am continuing to grow everyday as a makeup artist & I wouldn’t trade this journey for anything!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not a perfect road, i’ve had some bumps along the way. Everyday i continue to learn new faces from different eye lids to different face shapes. Different trends to try, so many things but it makes me stronger as an artist!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I do almost everything from “clean girl makeup” to “2016 makeup!” I feel i specialize in “full beat” or colorful makeup looks but i’m always down for the challenge! It sounds crazy but i’m so proud of the progress i’ve made doing winged eyeliner, I used to be terrified doing winged eyeliner now I ask every client if they want a winged liner! What sets me apart from others is i’m always ready & willing to learn, i’m always up for the challenge to better myself & grow as a artist.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
San Diego is beautiful, I love the food, the people, the views, everything it’s my home. Least thing to like is the traffic!
