Check out Paige Greener’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Paige Greener.

Paige, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I have always had a creative mind, so, in school, my mind wandered a lot. I was very much a daydreamer. Photography was something that seems to come natural to me; it was my hobby. I did yearbook all throughout high school and loved every second of it, but again, it was a hobby. Never did I think “I should make a career of this”. Years later, after receiving my degree in communications, I had a goal that I wanted to make a lot of money and sales seemed like the right path for me. But, I was never really fulfilled. My life felt like groundhogs day, I went through the motions of work and did what I was supposed to do. I thought I was happy, but I was really just living…I didn’t feel alive. That was until I had my daughter. I couldn’t stop taking pictures of her and my husband. It’s actually somewhat obnoxious how many photos I have of just them two. And one day, something clicked. I was photographing my neighbor and her husband for family pictures and felt that excitement behind the camera which I hadn’t felt in a long time. That was the moment I knew where my heart belonged.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
My art is telling a story through photography. Let’s be honest, no one really likes their picture taken when they are just posing and showing that cheesy smile. I don’t like it either. I try to tell your story as if the camera isn’t there. I get to know your story, so I can tell it in the best way possible. Pinterest is usually most of my clients’ inspiration, and I can’t tell you how many people ask for me to re-create another picture, but I try to get my clients to think outside the box. I ask a lot of questions to see what will magnify my clients love story. My focus is on weddings and engagements, but I also photograph lifestyle and families from time to time.

What do you think it takes to be successful as an artist?
Listening. People like to hear themselves talk and a lot of times don’t listen to what the client wants. You could deliver 100 + images to a couple, and they may like them, but if you didn’t capture what was most important to them, you have pretty much failed as an artist. Another quality is passion. I cry at every single wedding I attend, and I am proud of it. If you have a photographer who just lives in the motions, they will never be able to tell YOUR STORY…they would just be telling A STORY, see the difference?

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
The best support for my work is by following and liking my work on Instagram @paige.greener. My website is www.paigegreener.com and reviews on google always help.
