Today we’d like to introduce you to Ricardo Breceda.
Ricardo, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I didn’t start off as an artist, it happened when my daughter requested a dinosaur. Then I became one, an artist.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
My art started with large sculptures out of 26 gauge sheet metal designed and hand crafted by cutting, bending, adding textures, forming, and welding. I realized many either can’t fit or afford these life size creatures, and I wanted them to be able too, so then I started doing smaller things, then requests and custom pieces. I began doing it for my daughter, she has always been my inspiration and motivation for anything I do. Now it’s become more than that, it’s for everyone. I do it for people to enjoy and the chance to have something unique for themselves, because this is very unique. It also bringing me people together and open there minds to art. You can go adventure to Borrego springs and go in a map quest for my pieces or come to my gallery in Aguanga to gaze, capture, or purchase your own. My art work is for everyone.
Do current events, local or global, affect your work and what you are focused on?
I think the role of any artist has always been the same to capture people’s attention, entertain, uplift or feel some type of connection to it and get better at doing it. So I think we help society with emotions and beautiful things. The way events and issues affect us, is either making it financially difficult to continue what we love.
Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?

My website; which is ricardobreceda.com, you can inquiry about events, schedule private viewings with me, and more.
