Check out Scotty Cottrell’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Scotty Cottrell.

Scotty, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I spent over a decade of my life living and traveling over seas. In my lifetime, I’ve had the privilege of calling 6 continents home and visiting over 70 countries. San Diego was the first place that absolutely stole my heart and I’m so stoked and honored to call these beautiful beaches and city, home. Traveling the world is my passion but sharing this beautiful city with the world is what gives me joy.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I just want to inspire people to recognize the beauty that surrounds us everyday and hopefully motivate people to get out and explore the world. Basically, my job requires me to seek, capture and share beauty! This makes me a better person even when I don’t have a camera in my hand. How awesome is that!!!

Have things improved for artists? What should cities do to empower artists?
I think there has never been a time where, it’s been easier for artist to put their work out there to share with the world. It also think society in general has become incredibly impatient which can prove incredibly difficult for an artist to find the time to develop a personal style and unique vision.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
My website is currently going through a massive face lift but I’d be stoked for people to check out my Instagram page, ScottyCottrellPhoto.
