Check out Shy But Flyy’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shy But Flyy.

Shy But Flyy, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I grew up very shy. I wasn’t ever the most talkative, but I wrote everything down. Later on in life, these thoughts became songs and poems. Eventually I got the courage to share these with the world and now I am a full time artist. Creating and sharing is how I connect with people.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I am a singer, songwriter, and a poet. Writing is a way for me to look at my emotions on paper. Sometimes I don’t know what I feel until I write it down. It’s an amazing feeling when people connect to things I’ve written. It lets me know I’m not alone in this big world, or the only one going through certain issues. I talk a lot about love and relationships, as well as music and current issues. My message and motivation is the art and connection. Music is the universal language.

Do current events, local or global, affect your work and what you are focused on?
With everything that is going on in the world today I believe the role of the artist is the same. The role is to talk about the times and our own personal experiences. Art is made to provoke thought and also shed light to certain matters some may not know of or see differently. I feel like the independent artist have the most freedom in expression without censorship.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
The best way to hear my work is on my website. I also have a book of poetry available on amazon. “The meaning of the blues” – Shy But Flyy. I am currently working on a blues CD, and play live all over Southern and Northern California. I post a lot of clips on Instagram as well.
