Today we’d like to introduce you to Taryn Aubry.
Taryn, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I have loved painting and creating for as far back as I can remember. After graduating from the Academy of Art in San Francisco, I worked in other fields but always came back to my love of art. I love the freedom art allows for and being able to express myself non vocally. Abstract fluid painting has been my current focus, but I love working with different mediums and materials.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I am an abstract artist focusing on fluid acrylic painting. There is a lack of control in fluid painting that makes it exciting and freeing. You can move the canvas and manipulate the paints, but ultimately, they create their own shape. Abstract painting allows for many different interpretations and views of the piece. Most of my inspiration comes from nature and the elements and their interaction. I create in the hopes of eliciting feelings and emotions from people and hearing their interpretations of my work,
The sterotype of a starving artist scares away many potentially talented artists from pursuing art – any advice or thoughts about how to deal with the financial concerns an aspiring artist might be concerned about?
Financial challenges are always going to pop up. Prioritize, have a plan, and make time to create. Organization and time management are essential skills when dealing with and overcoming challenges. Try not to lose sight of your end goal and why you create.
