Today we’d like to introduce you to Timothy Chaplin.
Timothy, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I have always loved photography. Each image means something different to everyone. I started getting serious about photography while on Active Duty in the Marine Corps. One of my greatest blessings has been to take my camera with me on some deployments to different countries.
Early on in my journey, I fell in love with capturing images of people living their life and not necessarily posing for a portrait. Whether it is a family just enjoying each other, athletes pushing themselves to their physical limits, or people just doing what they love, I am in awe of the human spirit and hope to capture all that I can.
For the past six years, I have shot over 200,000 images, and while I only post a few, each image means the absolute world to me.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I am a professional photographer that captures images of people doing what they love the most. I have had families cry when they see their images, and that is what I strive for with each shot. I hope that people use my images to tell their story. I capture people in love with each other, families that love spending time together, people that have achieved milestones they want to remember, and moments that cannot be recreated.
What do you know now that you wished you had learned earlier?
My advice for all artists is to really follow what you love to do the most. For me, my art is not about making money; it is about the impact that my art has on those that I have the opportunity to capture. Invest in your education more than you invest in your gear. There are so many amazing photographers that can use an entry-level camera and capture stunning images. They invested time and resources into their craft before they bought the latest camera.
Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
People can see my work on my IG Timothy Chaplin or my website www.timothychaplinphotography.com
People can support me by following me, sending me any ideas of images that they might want to see, and of course, people can contact me if they are in need of a professional photographer.
