Today we’d like to introduce you to Blanca Bribiesca.
Hi Blanca, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Retired Marine, Mother of 3, Wife of 19 years My passion started while on active duty moving from place to place and having to make a house a home all over again.
I continued my passion assisting other spouses with organization and designing small projects for them. It quickly caught on, and soon I was asked by friends and family for design assistance. This is when it hit me: I found something that brings me pure joy and is so cathartic, especially during this time.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Ha! The road is always bumpy, especially when you’re trying to reach a dream. While most vendors are online, there are a few that I personally drive to and pick out each item, then load my vehicle to its max capacity. We have had to make multiple trips to fulfill our inventory.
As you know, we’re big fans of HABITAT. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?
My home decor shop is veteran and Latina-owned. I also interior design local Airbnb’s and have dabbled with mural paintings, which has been quite fun. I feel like what sets me apart from others is the eclectic desert interior design. I love funky pops of color as well as neutrals and organic handmade items. I am most proud of collaborating with local artist and featuring their creations in our shop. I want readers to know that we offer more than home decor; we have a lifestyle line to include gifts.
