Today we’d like to introduce you to Brian Pinkus.
Hi Brian, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
It all started in 2012 when I joined the film industry in Switzerland as an actor, fight choreographer, and stuntman. I saw the movies they were making which mainly consisted of Dramas or Comedies. There barely were any action movies there. So, I created my own film company called Light Flash Productions in 2014 and started to focus on action movies or action comedies. I still act for other film productions and still make fight choreographies, but I focus a lot on our movies. Since 2017 we also make movies, commercials, music videos, and corporate films for clients.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all! It was like a rollercoaster. I had to work really hard to get there where I am today. I had to invest a lot in this business, which is hard to do when you come out of school and want to join the film industry. I had to ask people and ask places if they wanted a film or a music video. It was hard considering that they wanted me to make the videos free of charge because I didn’t have the necessary training or certificate. So, I did it for free. I continued like that and made my own projects until 2016 where I got my first paid job as a filmmaker for a fitness studio. Since then, it went uphill. But even now it isn’t easy all the time and extremely hard work.

How do you define success?
According to some dictionaries Success is defined by achieving a favorable or desired outcome or by gaining wealth, respect or fame. For me, none of that matters. For me, success is measured in being able to make others happy and making myself happy. Then I know I succeeded and everything else comes automatically.
