Today we’d like to introduce you to Chantel Briann.
Hi Chantel, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Chantel started with a humble beginning making candles in her kitchen for friends and family, before turning it into a flourishing ecommerce candle business. She knew she could take an innovative approach in the candle industry, in which mainstream candle companies offer generic, mass-produced products without considerations for health or environment. She believes every unique ambient scent tells its own story, and is very excited to share the entire candle creation process with YOU.
Chantel founded Candles on Tap in 2019, San Diego’s first ever candle bar, with a mission to introduce a unique scent-making experience to the San Diego community. She hopes to ignite nostalgia through scent, inspire creativity, and create lasting new memories, one custom blend at a time.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The biggest challenge was launching a business during COVID-19. During our launch, we put safety protocols in place, such as hand sanitizing stations, facial masks, and seat dividers. We are still being very cautious as we navigate through this difficult pandemic.

Candles on Tap is San Diego’s first ever Candle Bar! We offer 90+ unique, premium fragrance oils to choose from, where you select and design your own custom scent to be blended into candles or flameless options. In addition to our soy wax candles, we offer other create-your-own options, such as reed diffusers. Our Scent Stylists will guide you through the entire hand-pouring process at our Scent Bar! #StayCozySD
