Today we’d like to introduce you to Christine Rasmussen
Hi Christine, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Since 2016, I have battled Lyme Disease, Epstein–Barr Virus, Systemic Lupus, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Polyarthritis, Raynaud’s Phenomenon, POTS, Inflammatory Papulopustular Rosacea, Hypoglycemia, Brain Injury, Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Depression, Near-Death Experiences, Emotional Trauma, and Chronic Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
By late 2020, I found myself sicker than ever. Alongside my daily symptoms, I lost over 30 pounds and became severely underweight. I struggled to eat or keep solid foods down, experienced extreme fatigue, and found it difficult to function normally, with my joints and muscles making walking a challenge.
I consulted numerous medical specialists across the United States, but none could offer clear answers. At one point, I was prescribed more than 11 different medications, which merely masked the symptoms without addressing the underlying issues. At my lowest point, my rheumatologist told me, “Sorry, you are just sick. There is nothing we can do.” I refused to accept this as my fate and was determined to pursue a path to recovery.
In early 2021, I felt a spiritual calling to change my life. This marked the beginning of my holistic healing journey. Within a year, I achieved remission and regained optimal health. Focusing on my mind, body, and spirit became a daily practice essential for maintaining my well-being and balance.
Although I had been practicing holistic healing for myself, I never considered using it for helping others until I left my position as a special education teacher. The hostile work environment there was causing chronic stress, reawakening my autoimmune diseases. I realized that no job or financial gain was worth sacrificing my physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. This realization felt like a sign from the universe, guiding me toward a different path in life. With no backup plan, I chose to have faith in myself and the universe.
Creativity has always been a part of me. As a child, I enjoyed writing and illustrating books, poems, plays, and movie scripts. I taught myself how to use a camera and film editing software to create movies, music videos, and claymations. By the age of 11, I was building websites for various businesses I imagined during play. Throughout my upbringing, I ventured into many business ideas, some successful, others not. I always knew I possessed an entrepreneurial spirit, but it took divine timing to create Find Your Power Wellness, my integrative holistic healing business.
I quit my teaching job in early February 2024, became certified in sound healing, and enrolled in yoga teacher training by March 2024. In April 2024, I hosted my first sound bath meditation class. Since then, I have organized over 70 classes and events, facilitating healing for more than 620 people in San Diego alone. I manage all aspects of my business, from facilitating classes to marketing, sales, website development, and crafting products. I now host weekly classes in a yoga studio and aspire to expand by creating my own studio space as demand grows.
I am grateful for the unique journey that has shaped me into who I am today. My passion lies in guiding and holding space for others on their healing journeys, empowering them to live their most authentic lives.
I believe we have only one chance to live this life in the eternal moment, so why not embrace it fully? The world is your oyster.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I am still in the process of building my business, but one of the most challenging aspects at the beginning was overcoming self-limiting beliefs and concerns about what others might think or say about me. I realized that many of these negative beliefs were simply in my head and that I was giving away my power by letting others influence my emotions so strongly. I made the conscious choice to confront those doubts and fears, and I was pleasantly surprised by what I discovered on the other side.
I found a vibrant community of like-minded individuals who welcomed me with open arms, respected me, and encouraged my growth. I noticed my family members beginning to support my interests as well. I embraced my authenticity and allowed myself to stand out from the crowd. By filling myself with self-love, there was no longer any room for others’ opinions to affect me. Once I reconnected with my truth, I discovered my divine alignment and flow.
