Today we’d like to introduce you to David Thomas.
Hi David, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was born and raised in New York. I lived there for 29 years before I moved to Ramona California in 2016. I started my career in the pool industry shortly after arriving here. I have had the pleasure of working with some of the best professionals in the industry here in San Diego. After years of training and continued education I mastered my trade and earned my California State Contractor’s License. I started my buisness, Ultima Pool and Spa Services in March of 2025.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No it has not been a smooth road. I started my buisness from almost nothing. No loans, no savings, no partners, no gifts. I currently operate my buisness while still working a full time job. I have been working 7 days a week since March 2025. I was driving my family Jeep Compass to service pools until I purchased my first work truck in September of 2025. I do everything for myself, all of my marketing, sales, accounting, social media management and building the Ultima brand.

Any big plans?
My current plan for Ultima’s future is to expand, hire, train and repeat. I look forward to building Ultima into one of the most in demand service providers in the country.
