Today we’d like to introduce you to Iris Pena.
Hi Iris, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
It’s been a long road and I’ve learned more than I care to at times, but knowledge is power and the more you know, the better you can maneuver through life.
I thought my life was just starting when I began college. I didn’t want to do the starving artist thing so I went to school for Graphic Design. I did well in this career for a good decade. Worked for several small advertising and marketing companies, eventually, I grew a good client list and run my own business from home while having and raising three kids. However, by the 3rd kid, it was growing more and more difficult to be creative in my work when while I was managing 3 young children. By this time, I had my hands full and I wanted to do more than design stuff for people, but I didn’t know what it was yet. I passed off my clients to other friends of mine in the industry and focused on my kids for a few years. Married at the time, I was able to be a stay-at-home mom and raise my kids. I’m grateful I was able to have those early years with my children as I enjoyed watching them develop through their milestones.
However, I wanted to do more for myself, if I didn’t have my hands full already, so I started another business teaching Intuitive Development. While being a stay-at-home mom, I was able to study all kinds of metaphysical things and their origins. I took classes and studied many ancient metaphysical and spiritual practices such as Shamanism, Sacred Geometry, Witchcraft, Astrology, Egyptianology, and Hinduism (to name a few). Cultivating my gifts in psychometry, intuition, and empathic abilities, I studied and received attunements for many different energy healing modalities. I started with Reiki until I became a Reiki Master Teacher. Then later moved on to Re Hu Tek™, a powerful energy modality that I use in my practice today. I learned so much and enjoyed practicing and sharing my energy healing gift with others. But I didn’t just learn for myself, I learned to aid and better understand my children’s gifts as they could see things beyond the vail that I couldn’t.
Fun fact, we lived in a haunted house for 10 years, where the spirit of grandpa would turn on the lights when my children were babies. One spirit in particular haunted one of my daughters so much that she was having some very severe night terrors for a year and no one could sleep in the house. I took her to the doctor to figure out what was going on and they told me she would grow out of them. That wasn’t good enough for me so I continued to look for more answers and eventually found a well know Medium, Lisa Williams from the LifeTime Channel, that helped cross the spirit over and brought peace to our household again.
This only continued to propel my curiosity further. I dove into my studies of the metaphysic world. I took classes and studied many ancient metaphysical and spiritual practices, cultivating my gifts in psychometry, intuition, and empathic abilities. I learned to better understand my gifts as well as my children’s gifts. For a few years, I taught several metaphysical workshops for adults to hone their psychic abilities as well as Intuitive Development classes for children and their parents to help others navigate the unknown.
With the market crash in 2008, I went back to work and found myself working in Technology doing hardware and software sales with large tech leaders. While working in technology my oldest daughter became consumed with chronic illness in 2012. We didn’t know what she had at the time [we now know it as Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS), Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), & Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS)], and for almost a decade I studied and researched better ways to help find her some relief from her chronic pain, chronic fatigue, seizures and mental health conditions that came with it since the age of 12. Where western medicine was not able to help, I found many alternatives holistic treatments. In 2014 when the US Farm Bill Sc 7606 passed, I had my daughter on the California waitlist for Charlotte’s Web CBD oil to aid with her seizures and pain. When the doctors gave her stronger and stronger opioids to my daughter in fragile health, I started her on cannabis to relieve her chronic pain and improve her well-being. What doctors may have scoffed at; I pioneered a better way for my child. I did what I could to help support her on her health journey of the mind, body, and spirit. I always say that my children are my greatest teachers and I learned so much from this experience. So much that it fuels my passion for health and wellness. I knew there was a better way and I was determined to find it.
I eventually left a six-figure career in the technology industry and divorced my husband as I need to make a change for myself. I had grown tired and needed something more meaningful in my life. I needed something that fueled my soul. I did some much-needed soul searching for years and found myself back to doing the spiritual and energic work that I loved most. I started Mother Medicine in the summer of 2020 during the peak of the pandemic. I knew the world was sick and disconnected not just in the body, but in the mind and the spirit. I wanted to help others on their health journey as well and put all my knowledge to good work. Though I love doing energy work and providing my clients with Energy Therapy to accelerate the healing process of the body, mind, & spirit, and Space Clearing to clear out any unwanted heavy energies in the home or office; I wanted to also provide my clients with a more grounded approach to balancing their lives. So, I went back to school and became a Certified Health and Life Coach to empower others to make the changes they need in their lives to embrace their true potential and become the greatest version of themself they can imagine. I help business professionals double their energy, confidence and deepen their spiritual connection through health and wellness of the body, mind & spirit. It’s been a long road, but one worth taking and I’m so blessed to be able to share my experience and gifts with others.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My life experiences have definitely taught me how to find a balance between the mundane responsibilities and the deep spiritual calling I feel within me as well as caring for my 3 children to aid them in balancing their health conditions. As my oldest is now living with her partner and managing her health conditions naturally and without medication, her sister and brother also have developed the same genetic health conditions. Thankful not as severe as their older sister. This again is why I turned to Health & Life Coaching as I continue to guide them on their health journey to move passed their conditions to better thrive in life.

Nicola Tesla said, “If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration.” I believe everything is energy and specialize in moving and shifting energy. Energy is emotion in motion and because of all my experiences and studies I have been able to connect with a deeper part of myself to know that I am a Lightworker. One of the 144,000 prophesied in the Book of Revelations, Emerald Tablets, Ashtar Command, Sananda, Native Americans, and in many other cultures around the world. I follow the great call that was sent to Lightworkers in all the universes to incarnate on Earth to guide this planet through the process of Ascension. The simplest way to describe a Lightworker is a being who feels an enormous pull towards helping others. Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
On an astrological level, I learned that when we went on Covid lockdown, we had some of the same astrological events that happen when the U.S. Civil War started as I believe this has become a war on our health and I suspect that it’ll take us just as long, if not longer, to grow from this as we evolve into the Age of Aquarius. This teaches us that the best defense is to take care of our health. The most valuable thing we have is our health and through good health of our body, mind & spirit we are able to make better choices for ourselves, feel better in our body, and have the energy to thrive in this new era to come.
