Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessie Quirke.
Hi Jessie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I grew up always knowing that I wanted a life that was adventurous and unconventional. I loved nature, travel, and animals- and just wanted a life that revolved around the things that I loved. I struggled in school and really didn’t like being told what to do. I wanted freedom above all else.
Throughout my life, I started to notice that I was developing unusual physical symptoms. Until I was about 20 years old, I was in a routine of masking what I was experiencing so that I could continue to live my life and experience the world.
After college, I had the opportunity to start working on yachts in the Kona Kai Marina in San Diego. I was offered a full-time position on 120 foot motor yacht as the Purser. I didn’t really know what I was doing at the time, but I figured it out as I went along. We moved down to Mexico for a six-month season and this was such an exciting time of life. I got to experience so many beautiful cultures, I learned a bit of Spanish, explored remote islands, pet a tiger, and really did feel on top of the world. Although this was one of the best times of my life, there was also a more challenging side of the experience as well. After a couple of months aboard, my health began to rapidly decline, more so than ever before, and I didn’t have any answers. All I knew was that I could feel that I had to slow down and address what was going on, or I truly felt that I may not survive much longer.
After a few months of flying back to the United States and seeing a handful of doctors, I still didn’t really understand what was going on. Six more months passed when we were docked in Marina Del Rey, CA, and I came to the conclusion, from and intuitive hit, that the environment I was living in was keeping me sick. I had the boat professionally tested for toxic mold and it showed to be an unlivable condition, with mold growing in my closet, under my bed, and in the air vent that faced me while I slept.
The owners didn’t believe how ill I was and stopped supporting my recovery, so I quit the boat with no job lined up and nowhere to live. I moved everything into my small Toyota sedan and hit the road with the determination to heal. After a healthy dose of couch surfing, I landed in Orange County, where I ended up finding the doctor who was able to diagnose me with Mold Illness and Lyme Disease. I spent the next 3.5 years in treatment while also getting certified an Integrative Nutrition and starting my own health business designed to educate and inspire others to get to the root of their chronic illnesses and come back into alignment with their highest potential.
One of the hardest parts of this experience was putting my life and adventures on hold to heal. However, there is nothing more valuable than your health and experiencing the world is a heck of a lot more enjoyable when you feel good.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the greatest challenges that I found in working in the health industry was feeling like I couldn’t support others in their healing until I was fully healed myself. What I came to learn was that this was just a limiting belief that I had. Deep down, I knew that I had been studying health relentlessly for almost a decade so that I could learn how to heal my own body. A major limiting belief that so many people hold onto is that they are not good enough. When I saw this in myself and was able to address it head on and see clearly that I have a purpose and a message to share in this human experience that is worth dedicating my life to. And that made the world of a difference in my health and career.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?

How do you think about luck?
Some may call it luck, I would all it coming into alignment. There were many aligned instances in my journey. One of the most notable experiences was when I decided to quit my toxic job and set off on a journey to heal, I ended up moving 10 minutes away from a functional doctor, who happened to specialize in Lyme and Mold. I didn’t know her specialty at the time, I found her because she was the only functional Doctor who took my insurance, which is very uncommon. I was able to receive over $400,000 worth of treatment that year, that was almost entirely covered by insurance. My doctor has been an essential figure in saving my life and starting my business journey. Another instance of alignment was when I was about to start a treatment that did not feel like a good idea. There was a potential of completely eliminating Lyme, which is said to be incurable, but the potential side effects included neuropathy and even psychosis. I felt like it was my only option at the time. By chance, my brother started dating a girl who had just gone through a Lyme treatment and was symptom-free after being bedridden with debilitating symptoms. I ended up changing course and following her path to this treatment in Idaho, which led to me gaining my health back and being able to move forward with my life. Another aligned experience was finding a mold-free home on Zillow, and the landlord happened to be my doctor‘s mom. She herself had Lyme disease and understood the importance of living in a non-toxic environment which was such a blessing.
