Today we’d like to introduce you to Kay Robins.
Hi Kay, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
In 2022, as the world was coming out of the pandemic, I was quietly falling apart. I was a Clinical Nurse Specialist working through severe staffing shortages and at the same time raising five young kids at home. I kept pushing, because that’s what nurses and mothers do, but inside, I was exhausted, inflamed, anxious, and completely disconnected from myself. I could feel that something was off, but I didn’t know how far things had actually gone.
My first biological age test was the moment everything shifted. It showed that I was aging faster than my real age, worn down by years of stress, lack of sleep, and constantly pouring into others while ignoring my own needs. Seeing that data hit me hard, but it also lit something in me. It was the first time I realized that resilience without recovery isn’t strength… it’s slow self-destruction.
So I made myself the priority. I committed to real, science-backed rejuvenation: IV therapy, NAD+, peptides, hormone balance, inflammation control, nervous system healing, and lifestyle changes that supported me at a cellular level. I didn’t just want to feel better, I wanted to rebuild my health from the inside out.
And over time, I did.
My most recent test showed just how powerful that journey has been. I’ve not only slowed my pace of aging significantly, I’ve reversed over nine years of biological aging from where I started. That kind of change doesn’t just show up in numbers. It shows up in the way I wake up with energy again… the way my mood is steady… the way my skin glows… the way my body recovers… the way I feel like me again.
That transformation is why I created Pure Alchemy Wellness. What started as my own healing became a mission: to help others move out of burnout and into vitality, to feel strong, confident, and connected to their bodies again, and to know that aging isn’t just something that happens to you. It’s something you can influence.
Today, Pure Alchemy is the place I wish I had when I was drowning. A place where science, support, and whole-person wellness come together to help people reclaim their energy, their joy, and their spark.
My journey didn’t just lead me here, it built the foundation for everything I now offer. And it’s the reason I believe so deeply that you can feel younger, stronger, and more alive than you ever thought possible.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Smooth? No, but every challenge shapes the work I do today.
When I first started, the hardest part wasn’t the science or the clinical side. That came naturally. The real struggle was figuring out where I fit in this massive wellness landscape, finding my zone of genius and narrowing down where my skills could create the biggest impact.
As nurses, we’re trained to be everything for everyone, to step in wherever there’s a gap. But entrepreneurship demands something different. It requires clarity, boundaries, and the courage to specialize. In the beginning, I tried to do it all. I tried every service, every idea, every request. And honestly, it diluted my purpose and exhausted me all over again.
It took time, trial, and a lot of internal work to recognize that my true strength is in longevity, cellular health, and personalized optimization, the blend of clinical expertise, advanced testing, and coaching that helped me transform my own health. Once I leaned fully into that, everything shifted. My work became more aligned, my messaging became clearer, and the results for my clients became deeper and more measurable.
Another struggle was navigating the emotional weight of stepping into something new. There’s the fear of getting it “wrong,” of being seen, of claiming a space in a field that’s constantly evolving. There were moments of impostor syndrome, moments of overwhelm, and plenty of moments where I questioned whether I could balance motherhood, a military healthcare career, and entrepreneurship without losing myself again.
But every bump along the way forced me to refine my voice, my boundaries, my systems, and my confidence. It helped me step fully into the woman I needed to become to run Pure Alchemy Wellness with purpose instead of pressure.
The road isn’t smooth, but it’s necessary. And I’m grateful for every challenge, because it helps me discover exactly where my knowledge, experience, and heart can be the most impactful.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Pure Alchemy Wellness?
Pure Alchemy Wellness is a longevity-focused wellness studio built around one core idea: your transformation starts with your data. All of our flagship offerings begin with advanced diagnostics: biological age testing, pace-of-aging analysis, inflammation markers, and cellular insights. This data becomes the blueprint for highly personalized protocols that help clients feel younger, stronger, and more energized from the inside out.
We specialize in cellular optimization, IV therapy, NAD+, custom supplementation, and personalized longevity programs that address the deeper causes of fatigue, inflammation, low energy, and accelerated aging. Everything we offer is tailored to the individual: from IV drips to custom supplement blends, ensuring clients receive exactly what their unique biology needs.
What sets us apart is the blend of clinical rigor and human-centered care. As a Clinical Nurse Specialist with years in maternal-child health and military medicine, I bring clinical precision, safety, and evidence-based practice, but also warmth, empathy, and lived experience. I’ve personally walked the path from burnout to biological rejuvenation, and I know how powerful it is to support wellness at the cellular level.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud that Pure Alchemy is both elevated and deeply human. It’s scientifically grounded without feeling sterile, and it’s supportive without being generic. Our work is designed for real people seeking meaningful, measurable transformation, not temporary fixes or surface-level wellness trends.
What I want readers to know is this:
Pure Alchemy Wellness is for anyone ready to understand their body more deeply, optimize their health, and step into a more vibrant, resilient version of themselves. Whether you’re seeking clarity through testing, support through NAD+ or custom supplementation, or a full transformation through our Vitality & Longevity Blueprint, our mission is to help you reclaim your energy, your confidence, and your spark.
Pure Alchemy is where science meets renewal, and where you begin to feel fully like yourself again.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
My view on risk-taking has evolved over the years. I used to think of risk as something to avoid. It was something that meant instability or uncertainty. In entrepreneurship, though, risk is often the doorway to growth, alignment, and possibility. It’s less about danger and more about stepping into the unknown with intention.
One of the biggest risks I took was creating Pure Alchemy Wellness in the first place. I was already balancing a demanding career in healthcare, raising five kids, and navigating my own journey back from burnout. Starting a business, especially one rooted in science, testing, and emerging longevity medicine, required me to trust my expertise, trust my story, and trust that there were people out there who needed exactly what I had to offer.
It meant investing financially, emotionally, and energetically into something that didn’t have guaranteed outcomes. It meant being visible, making decisions without a playbook, and stepping into a role that required both vulnerability and leadership. That was a major risk, but it’s also been one of the most meaningful decisions I’ve ever made.
For me, risk-taking isn’t about being fearless. It’s about being willing to act despite the fear, as long as the vision on the other side is worth it. I don’t take reckless risks; I take informed ones. I look at the data, the potential impact, and the alignment with my purpose. If something scares me but still feels true to who I’m becoming, that’s usually my sign to move forward.
I don’t think success comes from avoiding risk. I think it comes from choosing the right risks, the ones that stretch you, grow you, and walk you closer to the life and work you’re meant for. Pure Alchemy was that kind of risk for me, and it’s one I’d take again every time
