Community Highlights: Meet Kelly & Savannah Johnson / Indie of Flex Prep Meals

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly & Savannah Johnson / Indie.

Hi Kelly & Savannah, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Flex Prep was started right before Covid! A little meal prep business started for clients of Kelly, and grew organically to what it is now.

From just doing a gym pick up, to now delivering across all of San Diego and surrounding cities – Chula Vista, Ramona, Oceanside… and everything In between.

Over the years, The business has completely evolved from meal prep basics (which we still have a full menu of these meals!) to specialty meals that include our extremely popular homemade sauces & of course our protein treats.

We have always stayed true to our meals being very transparent – macro calculated and single item ingredients that are handpicked by our chefs.

We are coming up on our 5 year birthday, and are extremely looking forward to the next 5 years! Connecting with our customers, creating recipes that are healthy and tasty is what we love to do!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Nope.
This road has had MANY twists and turns.
But we have adapted.
Stayed the course – and will continue to offer a high quality meal prep service to our San Diego home.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Flex Prep is a macro calculated, chef curated meal prep service that delivers straight to your home.

We specialize in high protein meals. Meat based & now offer plant based options. We also feature lots of customization options, at Great value.

We are known for our sauces! Over the past year, we feel like the is the feedback we have received the most! Our sauces are high protein and made from scratch! In addition to that, we are very pure, single item ingredients and a lot of people are looking for less processed foods.

We feel like our price point sets us apart. Our meals range from $7.50-$14 with double protein add ons for only $3-$4 more.

We are most proud of the work we have put into our food / menu development. Especially over the last 4 months we have invested a lot of time and effort into that. Every Sunday we leave our kitchen feeling proud of the meals and the work we did!

We want your readers to just keep us in mind when they are looking for some extra help eating healthy, or if they need to outsource their food to gain more quality time back, we are always there!
We have a 50% for all your readers so they can try us! Use code: “HIDDENGEM” at checkout 🙂

We can’t wait to meal prep for you!

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Finding a mentor is difficult – but what has worked well for me, in my “meal prep” space was quite literally reaching out to other meal preps and asking if I could take them to lunch and just pick their brain!
I had one company respond and it was extremely helpful in so many ways. I left feeling like I was not alone!
