Kim, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve always been passionate about health, but it wasn’t until after the birth of my youngest child that I truly understood how complex, overwhelming, and deeply personal the journey to wellness can be.
Despite doing everything “right” — eating well, exercising, staying informed — I was exhausted, inflamed, and felt like my body was working against me. I saw specialist after specialist, but none of the answers fully addressed the root cause of what was going on.
That’s when I discovered nutrigenomics.
What I learned changed everything. I had multiple genetic variants that were impacting how my body processed key nutrients — things like vitamin D, B12, and folate — and, it turns out, that properly nourishing these genes was the key to addressing my symptoms. Once I began supporting those specific genetic vulnerabilities with the right active forms of nutrients, I experienced a profound shift. My energy came back, the brain fog lifted, and for the first time in years, I felt like myself again.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all — and I think most founders would say the same. The road to building SNiP Nutrigenomics has been full of challenges, but each one taught us something critical.
On a personal level, it was vulnerable to share my own health journey so openly. There’s always a risk in putting something so personal out into the world, especially when you’re building a company based on an idea that’s still new to many people. Nutrigenomics isn’t yet mainstream, so a big part of the early challenge was education — helping people understand what these genes do, why they matter, and how precision nutrition can dramatically shift how they feel.
From a business perspective, the science was the easy part. The real challenge came in translating that science into something people could actually use — building a system that was scientifically sound, but also beautifully simple and easy to adopt. We’ve had to navigate supply chain limitations, regulatory compliance, and the steep cost of developing a premium, personalized product from scratch.
There were moments where it felt like everything was working against us — delays, tech hiccups, skepticism — but every obstacle reinforced why we were doing this.
