Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Blair
Hi Kimberly, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey into holistic healing started in the most personal way—through my own health challenges. After being diagnosed with Graves’ Disease, an autoimmune condition, I realized that the stress and hustle culture of my career in tech were deeply affecting my well-being. That wake-up call led me to explore holistic practices at Saffron & Sage in Mission Hills, where I eventually transitioned from an intern to General Manager over six years. During that time, I trained extensively in Clinical Hypnotherapy, Breathwork, Sound Therapy, and Reiki, not only growing as a practitioner but also leading the business side, overseeing marketing, sales, and practitioner teams.
Then, life brought another profound shift. When my mom was diagnosed with lymphoma cancer, I dove deeper into energy healing and grief work. After her passing, I went through my own grief recovery process, which opened my eyes to how many people struggle to find meaningful support in times of loss. That’s when I knew I had to create something of my own.
I launched The Guides Holistic Therapies with the mission of providing deeply transformative healing experiences—whether through clinical hypnotherapy to rewire subconscious blocks, grief recovery to process loss, breathwork for a somatic experience and energy healing to restore balance. It wasn’t on my radar to become an entrepreneur, but I took the leap, and a net appeared. Now, four months in, I have two locations in La Jolla and Pacific Beach, and my focus is on increasing visibility, sustainability, and reaching more people in San Diego who are seeking true healing.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I was used to the structure and predictability of tech, but in wellness, I had to build everything from the ground up—developing my own offerings, marketing strategies, and learning how to manage both the business and practitioner sides of things.
There were also financial hurdles, especially in the beginning, as I figured out how to balance the investment in my business while still making sure it was sustainable. I had to learn how to trust the process, even when it felt uncertain. Another challenge has been finding the right space—securing two locations in a short time was an unexpected but welcomed challenge.
And of course, there’s the self-doubt that creeps in when you’re taking risks in unfamiliar territory. But with time, and a lot of support from mentors and colleagues, I’ve learned to embrace the discomfort and see it as part of my growth. It hasn’t been easy, but I’m incredibly grateful for all the lessons and the resilience it’s built in me.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I rely on a combination of podcasts, books, and newsletters to help me stay grounded and inspired in both my personal and professional life. Podcasts like The School of Greatness, To Be Magnetic, The Ed Mylett Show, Rise with Roxie, Mindin’ My Wellness, and On Purpose provide me with invaluable insights on personal development, high performance, and wellness. For some lightheartedness and humor, I love Absolutely Not.
In terms of books, The Creative Act by Rick Rubin and The Artist’s Way are two that really fuel my creativity and help me tap into deeper inspiration. Crying in H Mart was a poignant read that allowed me to process grief in a personal way, while lately, I’ve been diving into the ACOTAR series for a much-needed escape and a break from my usual personal development reading.
I also highly recommend subscribing to the Sunday newsletter from Revue Editorial—it’s packed with thought-provoking content that I always look forward to.
