Hi Kimberly, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hi, I’m Kim from Beauty Babe Club, and I’m a master PMU artist and educator. My journey into the beauty industry was quite unexpected but incredibly rewarding. Originally, I was living in LA, pursuing a career in fashion, which was one of the main reasons I moved there. I spent 10 years immersed in the fashion world, focusing on forecasting trends.
However, life took a turn, and I recently became a single mom. I knew I wanted to move back to San Diego to be closer to my friends and family, but I was uncertain about how I would support myself. One day, I heard about an eyebrow beauty service called microblading. I decided to give it a try, and I hate to sound cliché, but it truly was life-changing.
With my background in fashion and trend forecasting, I quickly recognized the potential of microblading as a rising trend in the beauty industry. Sensing a unique opportunity, I decided to dive headfirst into this new field. I took a class from the same talented artist who did my brows. At that time, she didn’t even offer training, but I was so determined that I practically begged her to teach me.
Fast forward to today, I now own a thriving studio and have developed my own line of permanent makeup products. The journey has been incredible, and I absolutely love what I do.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Being an entrepreneur definitely comes with its fair share of challenges—it’s never a smooth road! There are so many ups and downs, but that’s all part of the journey. Living in California, I always joke that working in the beauty or health and wellness industry is pandemic and recession-proof, which is a nice silver lining.
One of my biggest struggles has been learning all the different aspects of running my business. I’m the type of person who likes to learn something thoroughly before outsourcing it. This approach helps me avoid being taken advantage of, but it also means I wear many hats, from marketing to operations. I didn’t go to business school, so everything I’ve achieved so far has been through self-teaching. That in itself has been a major challenge.
Looking back, I think that if I had known more in the beginning, I might have found success a bit quicker. But honestly, the journey was worth it. I’ve gained so many valuable skills along the way. I feel confident that I could start a new business in any field tomorrow and totally crush it!

It’s an honor when someone trusts me enough to invest in my programs, allowing me to teach them a whole new career. Over time, I’ve seen the significant impact I’ve had on other women. I have students flying in from all over the country, and thanks to the power of the internet, I now teach live Zoom classes to students from Vietnam to Switzerland. It’s astonishing how far we’ve come; I started with just one course and now offer six different classes, all written by me.
Our newest offering is inkless stretch mark and scar repair. After two years of testing various serums and techniques, we’ve perfected a method to permanently repair stretch marks and scars without using any inks. This service can address C-section scars, surgical scars, and more. As you may know, there hasn’t been anything on the market that truly repairs these issues, making our service groundbreaking.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was definitely quirky and always had an eye for creativity. Whether it was fashion, home design, or beauty styles, I was constantly rearranging, creating, or making something. My room was like a mini studio, filled with fabrics, sketches, and DIY projects. I loved experimenting with different looks and ideas, which laid the foundation for my career today. Creativity has always been my outlet and my passion, and it’s amazing to see how those early interests have shaped my journey in the beauty industry.
