Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Drew.
Hi Lisa, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Originally from the East Coast, I made a bold, life-changing move to California in 2018 and settled in beautiful San Diego in 2020—right as the world was navigating the pandemic. I’m also a proud mom of two incredible kids, now in their 20s, who continue to inspire me on this journey of wellness and growth.
My passion for health and fitness has spanned more than two decades. Growing up with asthma and autoimmune challenges I didn’t fully understand until adulthood sparked a deep curiosity in me to uncover the root causes of my health struggles. That pursuit led me to become a certified nutritionist in 2009—initially to heal my own body and to raise my children with a strong foundation of wellness. The following year, I launched Lisa Drew Wellness with a mission to show that healthy living doesn’t have to be restrictive or boring. True wellness is holistic—it’s about nurturing every part of your life: food, movement, relationships, career, finances, and beyond.
In 2021, I graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) and have since continued expanding my education to better support my clients on their unique wellness paths. Today, my work focuses primarily on women’s health—especially gut health, autoimmune conditions such as Celiac disease and Hashimoto’s, perimenopause and menopause support, and healing from disordered eating patterns.
As a survivor of domestic abuse, my deepest passion is helping women heal on every level—mind, body, and spirit—so they can reclaim their power and step into the best version of themselves. My journey has taught me that transformation is always possible, and it’s my greatest joy to guide others toward lasting, meaningful change.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road—and honestly, I don’t think it’s meant to be. Growth rarely happens in our comfort zones. I’ve had to reinvent myself and my brand multiple times over the years, which has been both exciting and challenging. Each evolution required me to step into new roles, learn new skills, and continuously adapt to an ever-changing landscape.
One of the biggest hurdles has been navigating the tech side of running a business. Learning new software, platforms, and systems can be incredibly time-consuming, especially as a solopreneur wearing many hats. In the early days, I also faced the usual entrepreneurial struggles—like finding clients, building trust, and identifying the right partnerships to align with my mission and values.
But every challenge taught me something valuable and helped me grow stronger and more resilient. Looking back, those obstacles weren’t roadblocks—they were stepping stones that shaped me into the coach, mentor, and business owner I am today.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At Lisa Drew Wellness, I help women start from exactly where they are and guide them toward creating a life and lifestyle that feels good—physically, mentally, and emotionally. My philosophy is rooted in bio-individuality, meaning there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to health. Every woman’s body, history, and goals are unique, and I meet each client where she is while helping her understand and honor her body’s needs.
I specialize in women’s wellness with a focus on gut health, autoimmune conditions, perimenopause and menopause support, and healing relationships with food. Many of my clients come to me after years of frustration—dealing with bloating, fatigue, brain fog, hormonal changes, or chronic symptoms that haven’t been resolved through conventional approaches. Together, we uncover root causes, rebalance the body, and create sustainable habits that support long-term health and vitality.
What sets my brand apart is the deeply holistic nature of my work. Health is so much more than nutrition and exercise—it’s also about mindset, emotional healing, boundaries, relationships, purpose, and joy. As a survivor of domestic abuse and someone who’s navigated her own autoimmune journey, I bring not only professional expertise but also deep empathy and lived experience to the table. My coaching is about more than symptom relief—it’s about transformation: helping women reclaim their power, reconnect with their bodies, and rise into the healthiest, most vibrant version of themselves.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of creating a safe, supportive space where women feel seen, heard, and empowered. Whether through my signature Heal & Thrive Method™, group programs, 1:1 coaching, or corporate wellness initiatives, my mission is to guide women toward living a life of balance, ease, and joy—because healing isn’t just about surviving, it’s about thriving.
How do you think about luck?
I do believe luck has played a role in my life and business—though I often think maybe the universe aligned things in the way they’re meant to unfold. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to meet the right people at the right time, and many of those connections have blossomed into lifelong friendships and powerful collaborations, both personally and professionally.
Whether it was a chance conversation that opened a door, a referral that turned into a dream client, or a mentor who showed up just when I needed guidance, those moments have shaped the trajectory of my journey in meaningful ways. I don’t take any of it for granted.
At the same time, I also believe that “luck” tends to find us when we’re showing up with purpose and doing the work. So while I’m deeply grateful for the serendipity that’s come my way, I also know that every opportunity I’ve had is a combination of preparation, resilience, and trusting that the universe always has my back.
