Today we’d like to introduce you to Markus Zaugg.
Markus, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Founded in 2001 by Swiss-trained cabinetmakers Eva Clemens and Markus Zaugg, Studio Europa Inc. began with a simple belief: exceptional European craftsmanship deserves equally exceptional service. Two decades later, we’ve become San Diego’s premier destination for luxury European kitchens, combining Old World expertise with California innovation.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
When explaining the struggles of owning a business, it’s important to highlight the multifaceted nature of business ownership. Entrepreneurs often face challenges such as managing multiple roles, dealing with financial constraints, and the need for continuous learning and adaptation. By sharing these experiences, entrepreneurs can provide valuable insights into the realities of running a business and the importance of resilience and adaptability in overcoming obstacles.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Our approach reflects the best of both worlds: Swiss precision and reliability adapted for California’s indoor-outdoor lifestyle. We understand that European excellence must feel at home in
San Diego.
Every project reflects our core Swiss values: responsibility, honesty, reliability, and precision timing. These aren’t just business principles—they’re cultural DNA.
Unlike cabinet retailers, we handle every aspect of your transformation. Our team includes European-trained designers, licensed general contractors, and factory-certified installers, ensuring seamless execution from concept to completion.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
The day my younger brother was born which is 5 years apart from me.
