Community Highlights: Meet Mirian Acevedo of Healthraiser

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mirian Acevedo.

Mirian, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I used to live a fast-paced, wild lifestyle. Always on the go, chasing the next high, and next escape. I was immersed in motorcycle culture at the time. Lots of drinking, lots of adrenaline. It looked fun from the outside, but I was honestly pretty lost. I was carrying pain, and I didn’t know how to sit with it, so I numbed it, ran from it and tried to outrun the parts of myself that did not want to be seen. I knew something wasn’t right, and something in me knew it was time to change. I reached out to mental health specialists and was prescribed anti-depressants and anxiety medication. It was my first time understanding what having a clear mind was, but on the antidepressants I felt another level of numbness. I felt empty, and I knew there had to be another way to get better. My dad passed away in 2021, and my grief journey is what led me to energy work. My friend at the time was hosting a spiritual retreat in Mexico. I was desperate to feel better and joined the retreat. That’s when I discovered Reiki. It was nothing I have ever felt before. When I flew back home, I looked for Reiki classes around my area. I still was unaware of what happened to me during my first energy session, but I felt this pull to learn Reiki and what it was that I experienced. I was still a huge skeptic of Reiki and all this energy work, but my curiosity was way too intrigued to not give it a chance. Throughout my Reiki training, Reiki helped me come back home to myself. I was disconnected from my body and Reiki’s gentle touch helped me connect back with my body and sensation. It was my way of connecting not just with my physical body, but my energetic body as well. It taught me that healing isn’t becoming someone new, but remembering who I’ve always been beneath the hurt. Reiki led me to alternative healing. I graduated from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and became a holistic wellness coach. I became aware that healing is multi-dimensional. Lifestyle medicine and nutrition helped me gain back my wellness for my physical body, and Reiki helped me understand my energetic wellness. I now get to help others through their wellness and spiritual wellness journeys. It’s been an honor to have my pain now be medicine for others.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth ride, but I do believe struggle is the cost of growth and expansion. It is not easy work to face yourself. The biggest struggle was sobriety. Sobriety absolutely makes you face yourself dead on. It’s uncomfortable. It was a struggle to leave old dependencies behind and not runaway or hide. One of the biggest lessons I have learned is choosing your “hard”. You can have the hard of facing a problem and doing the work to solve the issue, or the hard of continuing on the toxic cycle and being miserable. I think healing really is returning back to authenticity and choice. I never thought I would trade chaos for peace, but I am forever grateful I did. I live in healthy habits I am proud of.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At its heart, my work is about helping others come home to themselves. I specialize in Usui/Holy Fire® III and offer one-on-one sessions. I truly believe the best was to keep an escape artist at home, is to create a home they don’t want to runaway from. Through Reiki and energy healing, I guide clients in getting in touch with their inner truth and wisdom. I help people create homes within themselves. I’ve lived through intensity and transformation and I bring that lived experience into every session. It’s not about fixing anyone; it’s about helping people feel alive and empowered in their bodies and experience again. I am grateful to witness beautiful transformations from my clients and see them live in their authenticity and personal power.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I offer one-on-one sessions and would love to meet you on my table. I am always open to collaborating with other wellness practitioners and energy healers to help others. Healing takes a village.
