Today we’d like to introduce you to Nina Camille.
Hi Nina, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a transformational facilitator trauma healer, mentor, coach, author, yoga teacher, and retreat leader. I run a business called Experience Freedom, a suite of group programs, luxury retreats, and trauma-informed facilitator training for epic beings to radically open, dissolve trauma and discover the truth of who they are in safe, expansive, and loving containers of peers. My passion lies in guiding people to true inner freedom, deeper connection + authenticity in a way that is practical, sustainable, and miracle-inducing.
I currently live my version of ultimate freedom and help others discover themselves fully so they can fulfill their mission here on Earth all while having a really great time.
But it certainly was not always this way.
Like many young adults, I came to a breaking point during my late 20s. I woke up to a beautiful life in downtown San Diego – I had a great job, a wonderful partner, a beautiful apartment, amazing friends, lots of travel. But I felt empty inside. I had won the outer game, but the inner one hadn’t even begun.
So, I went on a journey of discovering who I really am. I hired a mentor, took workshops, and learned that I had built my entire personality around being well-liked. I never felt safe as a very sensitive only child in a chaotic home, and so I learned to sense danger, conform accordingly, and get people to like me in order to stay safe as a child. And when I became an adult, I didn’t even realize my identity was built around escaping pain and trying to get the love I was missing.
I turned toward myself, dove into the healing arts, became a yoga teacher, and traveled the world. Everything seemed like it was going fine until I had a year where all my biggest fears came true. I got my heart broken in love, I lost my best friend in an unexpected death, moved three times, and sat with my mom in the hospital, all in a matter of months. I realized then how important it was to treat myself with care and kindness. To nurture my body. To feel my emotions. To ask for help. And to build a life full of purpose and love.
That journey is what catapulted my coaching business and had me offer all the tools and healing work that supported me during my coming home to myself. I learned that all shame is a lie, we are all meant for something beautiful and great, and in order to live the life you came here to live, you must radically choose it in the face of all obstacles.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being an entrepreneur is a full-on initiation. It will test your mental stability, your nervous system, your emotions, and your spirit. It’s like standing at the edge of a cliff and choosing to leap every single day. And, it’s provided me more freedom than I ever thought would be available to me.
From financial inconsistency to market fluctuations, there is a lot about being a business owner that tests us. There have been pivots and course corrections every step of the way. I had to asses my entire business in 2020, because I ran international retreats for a living and still taught yoga in-studio. My business was online before 2020, but so much changed for all of us. The market will never be the same, and we have to adjust.
Emotionally, being an entrepreneur is quite a ride. Learning to balance personal fun, self-care, and professional responsibility is an everyday ongoing ride that adjusts as I grow and evolve as a human being.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Experience Freedom is a suite of online group awakening programs, luxury retreats in paradise, and trauma-informed leadership trainings that take highly-curated groups of epic beings through a process to live their truth fully, take their inner work deeper, and live a fulfilled life of purpose, service, and freedom. We have programs for beings at all levels of personal, professional, and spiritual development. We heal trauma in a group environment using radical alignment, openness, authenticity, our life’s unique mission, and ancient wisdom to create daily life practices, facilitate epic transformation within ourselves and each other so we can leave the world better than we found it, together.
Beings of all gender identifications participate so we have a real microcosm of what life is like in the real world, and we learn to heal relational dynamics with men, women, and everyone in between. Many of us have had a coach or gone to therapy, and in my experience, group work is the next step in embodying and living the wisdom we learn through our healing journey. It allows us to safely practice what we know, heal old wounds and pain, and learn to connect in a non-violent, safe, open, authentic, and love-filled manner.
The ultimate mission for Experience Freedom is to create safe, healing spaces for all beings to learn to create peace and love for themselves and each other, in the highest good for all beings everywhere. This is why we train facilitators and leaders to create these spaces and love their service, too.
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
I sure have! I re-learned how to care for my body at the ultimate level, I learned to pivot my business and stay resilient, I learned how to be absolutely unwavering in my mission. I learned keen discernment, how to ask for help, how to grieve, and how to teach others to support people who are grieving. The last few years have been quite the journey for us all, and I feel the most important thing we learned is how to slow down, look within, and choose love in the face of all other options.
