Hi Priscilla, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hello, my name is Priscilla Arce, and I have always loved flowers. Creating arrangements was always a hobby for me but I never thought it would be my career. My beautiful mother always had a dream of
opening a flower shop as she had a great understanding and passion for all types of plants and flowers.
Today because of her, my hobby has turned into my passion and I am a fulltime designer and florist.
Designing and creating floral arrangements has always been therapeutic for me and my goal is that they
would bring joy to someone’s life. Today, my mothers dream, passion and creativity are running through
me as I do what I love!
Before I started this journey, I was stuck in a season where I lost all passion as I was still mourning the
loss of my mother. I was working a nine to five and there were be times my husband and I would not see
each other because of our work schedules. When COVID-19 hit the world, so many people experienced
loss in so many ways and I was laid off from my job in the hospitality industry. I worked in that industry
for over 10 years and when I lost my job, I didn’t know what I was going to do. Thanks to the support
and encouragement of my family and friends I started ‘By Priscilla Arce’ on February 1, 2021. I was very
nervous at first but thanks to those who have supported me along the way, I can now say it was the best
thing I could have done! I know that my mother would be so proud of my floral journey!
I design beautiful blooms for any occasion and can customize to any style! I love the fact that the dried
and preserved florals can be shipped nationwide and By Priscilla Arce has now been in 15 states! I am
blessed to be able to create florals that brighten someone’s day, and I strive to delight my customers
with every order!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There have been struggles along the way. With any new project or venture there are going to be bumps in the road but starting a floral design company in prime wedding season forced me to learn those
lessons on the fly. COVID-19 put a hold on weddings and now that things are opening back up, everyone
is picking up where they left off and I have had to get a firm understanding on shipping, prices, and now
understand the importance of a contract all while making sure I have all proper licenses and permits
required to run a business. Learning when to say no is a struggle because as any company should, at By
Priscilla Arce we aim to please our customers, but we just can’t do it all. Pinterest boards are amazing
but sometimes they don’t fit the customers budget, or that specific flower is not in season but to this
point I have taken the challenge to come to a happy place with my customers and modify when needed.
I pride myself in working with my clients budget and use creativity to bring cost down so that my client
can have the wedding, baby shower, corporate event and even first birthday parties of their dreams!
