Community Highlights: Meet Rosalinda Robinson of Beyond Bathology

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rosalinda Robinson.

ROSALINDA ROBINSON

Hi Rosalinda, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Growing up was tough and unconventional, but then again, what is normal these days? My mom did the best she could, but I wanted more. Being the eldest of six children, four of them girls, I had to take care of them as much as I could. That shaped me into the person I am today. I always looked after others and learned how to fend for myself and them. I became a caretaker for different people. But then, my wife told me it was time for me to do what I want and not worry about anyone else. She slowly taught me that I matter and that I am strong. I love her and myself very much. She has done so much for me, including fulfilling my bucket list. She always surprises me with something, and I appreciate her more than words can say.

I also owe a lot to my mother, who encouraged me to pursue my dream of creating natural products. She was amazed by the quality and effectiveness of the samples I gave her and offered to join me in my venture. A month later, my wife and I got married, and my mother became our partner. It was the happiest time of my life.

Today, my wife is my biggest supporter and cheerleader. She always stands by me and motivates me to keep going. Yeah, I sometimes give her a hard time, because if she is working on a Saturday and I have to do a pop-up on a Sunday, I try to drag her with me, but I understand she has worked already during the week. And no matter if I tell her to go home after helping me set up, she ends up staying with me. And that I so appreciate her. She is the best thing that ever happened to me. I also have an adopted sister, Joni, and three brothers, Robert, Randy, and Bernett. They are always there for me at every pop-up event, helping me with the logistics, the promotion, and the customer service. They are my family and my team. I’m slowly getting my products onto Amazon and Walmart and working on getting a trademark for our brand. I want it to be a legacy that I can pass on to future generations. I want it to represent the values of hard work, integrity, and excellence that I stand for. I love what I do and seeing people enjoy the natural products I make. My products are made with organic ingredients that are good for the skin and the environment. My followers and regular customers inspire me to keep innovating and creating new products that meet their needs and expectations.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I would have to say my biggest challenge and obstacle is not having enough funds or capital to be able to update my things or be able to advertise. Yes, I know and understand that advertising is very important and marketing. Well, I have that part, I believe, covered. But still, the advertising is so very important. Yes, media, but that isn’t enough if you aren’t paying into it. Then there are times like the new year coming in that I need to pay for pop-up events, and well, this coming year, we have to cut back and well I now have to take a part-time job in order for me to try and at least make some of the events I get new people, and to pay for paperwork that needs to be renewed and well those are my biggest challenges.

As you know, we’re big fans of Beyond Bathology. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Thank you for this fascinating question. I think it is essential to always remember your origins and the people who supported and inspired you along your journey. I used to tell my daughter that you might need the same people you met on your way up if you ever come down. Success is not a fixed concept. It can mean different things to different people, depending on their goals, values, and situations. Some people achieve success with ease, while others have to face many hardships and hurdles. I am part of the second group. I built my business from nothing, without any financial help, loans, or favors from anyone. I worked hard, often giving up my sleep and free time while studying. I had a vision and a passion for what I wanted to do, but I also encountered many challenges and uncertainties. Then, everything changed when I got a phone call from my mother. My wife and I were testing some products that we wanted to sell, so we gave some samples to my mother to try them first. She was very impressed by the quality and effectiveness of the products, and she called me to give me her feedback. She said, “Child, whatever you put in this stuff, don’t lose it. I have a business mind, and I’ve onto something here.” She urged me to follow my dream and offered to join me in my venture. A month later, my wife and I got married, and my mother became our partner. It was the happiest time of my life.

Today, my wife is my biggest ally and fan. She always stays with me and encourages me to keep moving forward. Yeah, I sometimes annoy her, because if she is working on a Saturday and I have to do a pop-up on a Sunday, I try to drag her with me, but I understand she has worked already during the week. I want it to reflect the values of hard work, integrity, and excellence that I stand for. I love what I do and seeing people enjoy the natural products I make. My products are made with organic ingredients that are good for the skin and the environment. My followers and regular customers inspire me to keep innovating and creating new products that meet their needs and expectations.

Some of the lessons I have learned along the way are: I am resilient, I am not a quitter, and I love to learn new things. I have faced many challenges and obstacles in my life, but I have always overcome them with determination and perseverance. I am always curious and eager to explore new topics and skills, whether it is a new language, a new hobby, or a new technology. I love my wife Shirley for all she has gone through with me. She has been my rock and my support through thick and thin. She is really something special, unlike anyone I have ever met. She has a unique personality that combines kindness and gentleness with strength and courage. She can stand up for herself and me when someone tries to mess with us, but she doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. She has a look that can make anyone back off, but she also has a smile that can light up the room. I have also learned to never let anyone make me feel less than what I am, to always believe in myself, and to never give up.

What I want the world to know about me or my brand and story is: I am a passionate and visionary entrepreneur who creates natural products that are good for the skin and the environment. I started from nothing and built my business with the help and support of my family and my wife. I have a loyal and satisfied customer base that inspires me to keep improving and innovating. I have a strong work ethic and a high standard of quality. I want to leave a legacy that represents the values of hard work, integrity, and excellence that I stand for.
