Today we’d like to introduce you to Ruby Ghai.
Hi Ruby, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was looking to connect people and bring some comfort and security during Covid. I started hanging out with couple of friends and we would go for walks or get together for tea or snacks. I started making traditional Indian sweets and pickles to give to my friends. This is how it all started, people started enjoying taste of home away from home, it was all word of mouth. I was looking to do something during pandemic and that gave me purpose.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Passion turned into business, I started getting lot of orders, my husband has always been my support. We both started managing the business together, keeping up with the orders was struggle in the beginning but we came up with the process and learned from every interaction getting better with each passing year.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My brand is pure, authentic food items made with love and only the best ingredients. I specialize in traditional Indian sweets, pickles, chutney, hot sauce and spice mix. I cook everything with my mom’s original recipes. My mom used to cook everything with love and serve it with the smile, she used to say, “ serve to others only the way you would eat. Everything is made fresh with hand picked organic ingredients, I call my cooking, personalized, boutique style.
What are your plans for the future?
I would like to open my boutique style cafe one day with specialized cooking where any guest would feel at home and enjoy the food energized with love and positive vibes.
