Today we’d like to introduce you to Ry The Warmth.
Ry, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve been a hyper-creative since I was old enough to walk. Taking photos, making videos, playing any instrument I could get my hands on. Formed my first band and wrote my first songs at age 7. In middle school, I started recording and producing music on the computer, as well as editing videos. Got my Bachelor degree studying narrative film and cinematography.
After school, I founded, crashed and burned a few production companies and record labels. This never deterred me, however. It only made me more passionate for success, and gave me great play-by-plays of “what not to do”.
Don’t get me wrong, there were many sweet moments and highs throughout this time — generating hundreds of millions of organic social media views, cultivating events with artists who would go on to win Grammys, having my personal songs placed in award winning films, headlining historic venues like SOMA SD, DJing exclusive parties in the Hollywood Hills — the list goes on and on.
More than a decade later and I’ve dabbled in just about every aspect of entertainment, and I am now bringing it all together with my latest venture:
a full-spectrum creative studio aimed at developing and inspiring artists in music, film, and fashion.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Most of my struggles have been due to my own inability to be patient or follow a steady path. In the past I have been one to skip steps or try to jump to the end, always looking for the shortcut. This can be beneficial at times, but majority of shortcuts will lead to shortcomings.
The master who stays humble and takes one small step everyday will always overpower the amateur who jumped on the rocket and skipped to the end. Lessons are learned in tandem, and endurance is built over time.
If I could give one piece of advice to my younger self it would be to listen more closely to those who have walked this path before. Learn from other’s mistakes and take your time. It’s not a race. Creativity and art are never about the end goal. I know it’s cliche, but the journey really is the reward if you take it slow and enjoy the process.
As you know, we’re big fans of Frequency of Bliss. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Frequency of Bliss is a full-spectrum creative studio focused on cultivating and inspiring artists in music, film, and fashion. We provide space for creatives to maximize their potential, develop their talents, and collaborate with others, all while maintaining 100% sovereignty of their work.
Founded by artists for artists, we understand the struggles of creating alone, as well as the power of having a community of like-minded individuals building and creating momentum together.
We believe in the divine responsibility artists have to act as the bridge between heaven and earth, and every activation is aimed at broadening and enhancing this experience.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I’ve always been curious and skeptical about everything we call facts. My favorite question since a very young age has always been, “but how do we know?” Whether it be religion, science, or art, “How do we know what is actually true?”
This led to me always devising experiments and asking questions. Granted, I didn’t always accept the answers I was given, it still laid the framework for the way I go about life to this very day.
I am always looking for the optimum way forward, the clearest and most definitive approach to growth.
