Community Highlights: Meet Sherryca Khor of The Reiki Garden

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sherryca Khor.

Hi Sherryca, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
As a first-generation American, I have experienced two completely different worlds in parallel. Western medicine and Eastern medicine. I completed a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences – Ecology at CSUSM, and I grew a fiery interest in anthropology when opted in for an elective. To be completely honest, I didn’t attend at least 90% of the class, but I read every book and aced every paper/exam. I became obsessed with understanding religion, culture, environment, herbs, mushrooms, healing techniques, medicines, and poisons.

During this time, I was also working on a study that integrated biotechnology with ecological research and realized how our society impacts the environment just as much as our environment impacts us mentally, physically, and spiritually. Since I was already going down the rabbit hole, I started to make more connections to my purpose when suddenly, it felt like I was magically good at math when I took a couple of theoretical physics classes and performed exceptionally well. (I’m terrible at math by the way) I decided to ride this wave, and I was highly motivated to indulge in how all these topics can relate and lead to a breakthrough in our American culture.

With many years of academic research and research operations, I have found a passion for quantifying and qualifying the relationships between ecosystem processes and social constructs via the integration of Western and Eastern medicine techniques. This renewed purpose has taken me down a deeper path toward Enlightenment, and became a certified Reiki Practitioner. In the last year or two, I decided that I would research how quantum physics defines biofield therapy and targeted cell regeneration through measuring frequency.

As Albert Einstein said, “Future medicine will be the medicines of frequencies.”

Therefore, I founded The Reiki Garden.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The path to success is never linear. So far, mine has included: a couple of narcissistic/abusive ex-boyfriends, learning how to talk to my inner child about childhood trauma, mentally abusive siblings, destroyed friendships, my father passing, being blackmailed, robbed, being laid off, trying to find work, being gaslit by therapists, maintaining 3-5 jobs at once, repeating classes, crashing my car, substance abuse, and all the other juicy stuff that makes for a good movie.

Keep an eye out for a Twitch.tv live-streaming channel that I will be announcing the schedule for in the fall of 2023! This is where I will be sharing the tea about the different challenges and struggles that I think a lot of people can relate to when working on themselves and following their purpose.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next, you can tell us a bit more about your business.
The Reiki Garden is an illustrated representation of our complex body, mind, and soul. Consider your life as a garden, and each seed you plant to be the skills and habits that allow you to be the best version of yourself. The intention is to become the best version of yourself by maintaining and repetition for growing skills and habits into a flourishing garden of life.

Reiki is a form of bio-field therapy that nourishes a Garden of greater self-awareness, heightened intuition, financial success, and enhanced healing of many different forms of traumas and ailments.

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a healing technique where the practitioner channels energy into the client by means of touch to activate the natural healing processes of the patient’s body and restore physical and emotional well-being. Reiki is a Japanese form of energy healing, a type of Eastern medicine. Reiki practitioners use a technique called palm healing or hands-on healing through which a “universal energy” is transferred through the palms of the practitioner to the patient in order to encourage emotional or physical healing.

We take a scientific yet spiritual approach to determining the best treatment session for our clients, which ultimately creates a more accurate healing.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Risks come in all different sizes and flavors with some surprising outcomes. Some work and some don’t, but that’s all a part of the scientific method.

1. Observation

2. Question

3. Hypothesis

4. Research

5. Results

But instead – we’re talking about risks:

1. Opportunity Rises

2. Should I do it?

3. Consider Pros and Cons

4. Take Risks

5. Lesson Learned

I think every calculated risk should be taken because those are opportunities for breakthroughs. We are in a world that needs love and compassion, but we have a society that has lost faith, struggling with different issues and poverty; it only takes one person to try and change the world.
