Hi Stephanie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always been interested in beauty and make-up since I was a youngster. I learned how to be a makeup artist by watching videos on YouTube, and I loved every minute of it. I realized I wanted to be more than a makeup artist. I love making women feel good and confident. In 2018, I discovered an online advertisement that explained how to generate money doing something you enjoy, which in this case was body sculpting. I took the course and was blown away by how much I enjoyed it. I was a caregiver at the time, working 12 hour shifts, day and night. I quit my job and wondered if a body sculpting spa would work especially with this pandemic. People were losing their jobs and I was opening a spa? Well with my sister Janet we decided to take a chance and open our very own body sculpting spa. BODY BY J&S . Because of the pandemic it’s been a difficult two years, but we’ve been blessed with wonderful clients, family, and friends who have supported us. We are grateful for all of the support we have received from the community; it has not been easy, but it has been well worth it!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It was difficult to start a business during a pandemic. We were terrified and unsure about our chances of success. But I told myself that unless we try, we’ll never know.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
What I have learned from covid-19 crisis is don’t take anything or anyone for granted. It’s been a fight for everyone, but we’re getting there, and it’s become the new normal.
