Hi Tamesha , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always believed that life’s most meaningful moments deserve to be experienced, not managed. That belief has shaped every chapter of my career.
My journey began with a passion for organization and service, which naturally evolved into event planning. Over the years, I realized that my work wasn’t simply about coordinating weddings or events. It was about creating environments where people could be fully present for some of the most important moments of their lives. Whether it’s a couple saying “I do,” a corporate team celebrating a milestone, or a community gathering together. I want my clients to enjoy the experience rather than worry about the logistics.
As my career evolved, so did my vision. I founded FMTY Weddings & Events, expanded into corporate event planning, and eventually launched The Planner Wedding & Lifestyle Magazine. The magazine was born from a desire to educate, inspire, and celebrate, not only beautiful events but also the people, businesses, and stories behind them.
I later expanded that mission through my podcast, Did You Say Something, where I have authentic conversations about relationships, business, personal growth, and the moments that shape our lives.
Like many entrepreneurs, my journey hasn’t been without challenges. There have been seasons that required me to pause, reflect, and redefine success. One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned is that stepping away isn’t the same as giving up. Sometimes a pause is exactly what prepares you for your next season of growth. That perspective gave me the confidence to relaunch my magazine, strengthen my business, and embrace new opportunities with greater clarity and purpose.
Today I wear several hats as an event planner, publisher, entrepreneur, and creative strategist. At the heart of everything I do is the same mission: creating meaningful experiences that leave lasting impacts. Whether through an event, a publication, or a conversation, I hope every person I serve walks away feeling seen, inspired, and valued.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has not been a smooth road, but I have learned that growth rarely is. Like many entrepreneurs, I have experienced seasons of uncertainty, self-doubt, and the pressure of trying to balance multiple responsibilities. Building a business requires more than passion. It demands resilience, adaptability, and the willingness to keep moving forward, even when the path is not clear.
One of my biggest challenges was learning that I did not have to carry everything on my own. For a long time, I believed that doing more meant doing better. Eventually, I realized that asking for help, building the right team and trusting others with pieces of the vision were signs of growth, not weakness.
There were also seasons when I stepped back to reflect and reassess the direction of my business. At first, I viewed those moments as setbacks. Looking back, I see them as some of the most valuable parts of my journey. They gave me the opportunity to refine my vision, strengthen my foundation, and return with greater confidence and purpose.
Perhaps the greatest lesson I have learned is that success is not about avoiding challenges. It is continuing to move forward through them. Every obstacle has taught me something valuable, and each one has helped shape the leader, entrepreneur, and person I am today.

I am the founder of FMTY Luxury Group, LLC, the Parent company of FMTY Weddings & Events, where we specialize in boutique, weddings, corporate events, executive retreats, and thoughtfully curated experiences. At the heart of our work is a simple philosophy: our client should be fully present while we manage every detail behind the scenes. We believe the most meaningful moments in life deserve to be experienced, not managed.

What I am most proud of is building brands with purpose. Whether I am producing an event, publishing a magazine, or hosting meaningful conversations, my goal remains the same: to educate, inspire, and create experiences that leave a lasting impact. I want people to remember, not only what we created together but also how we made them feel throughout the journey.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
Beyond my work, I am a proud wife, mother, grandmother, and someone who truly enjoys life’s simple moments. I love spending quality time with my family and friends, sharing a great meal, discovering new wines, and creating memories with people I love most. Those moments remind me why I do the work that I do.
I believe success is about more than building businesses. It is about building a life that reflects your values, creating meaningful relationships, and leaving every person and every place better than you found it.
