Hi Tatiana, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
After getting my esthetics license in 2019 I discovered my passion for waxing. After saving money and doing tons of research i finally was able to open up my very own full body waxing studio called Nightshade Esthetics LLC, in 2023. I am now currently a year in business and am gaining so much knowledge. Im excited to grow my brand and transition to full time at my studio in the coming years.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not haha. Funding my own business launch almost 100% as a 20 something while working a full time job was no easy feat! I struggled with lulls in progress and lack of self confidence in my ability to pull this thing off. Coupled with an unexpected loss in the midst of getting ready to open made it seem impossible at times. But I persevered and i pushed myself to do what scared me and its been so worth it!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Nightshade Esthetics LLC is a full body waxing studio dedicated to the weirdos. The ones who find comfort and solace in the spooky side of life. I offer a variety of waxing services with a specialization in female Brazilian waxing. I think what sets Nightshade apart from others is my constant goal of providing an excellent experience for my clients and also a safe and welcoming enviornment. Im very proud of my connections i have been able to build with clients and my attention to detail. I would like anyone reading this to know that despite Nightshade having a darker aesthetic my studio is a safe space for everyone who just wants a great wax!
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
Im a huge lover of Canva. It makes me feel like a true graphic designer even when i couldn’t tell you the first thing about real graphic design. Im also constantly looking for education and new faces to learn from in my industry and instagram helps me find wonderful professionals who have made me a better waxer. Lastly i would say my booking site Fresha! probably the best free booking site ive found. It makes it incredibly easy for my clients to book and rebook
