Today we’d like to introduce you to Wendy Smith, N.P..
Hi Wendy, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
From my first day of working when I was a teenager I always yearned for more, searching for my forever career and what it was I was really happy doing. Prior to nursing I worked in restaurants and hospitality then I became a massage therapist. For the next 6 years I truly enjoyed helping others find moments of tranquillity, relaxation and relief from pain. I still had that feeling that this isn’t it for me and enrolled in nursing school. I started my working career as a Registered Nurse at Tampa General Hospital, FL, in the Cardiac ICU. Naturally Im a nurturer so providing care came easy and it brought me joy. After four years I made the move to California with my now husband and enrolled in graduate school to become a Nurse Practitioner. I graduated as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2015. This is when I strongly felt the freedom to truly explore what it was I really loved to do, save lives one face at a time.
I have been in the aesthetics field for over nine years, specializing in facial rejuvenation and skincare. Driven by my passion for all things skin, I became an aesthetic injector in 2016 .
With my sights set on delivering an unforgettable aesthetic experience, fostering strong client relationships, and continuously honing my craft, together with my husband Dr. Kevin Smith, Hermosa Aesthetics was established as a space for clients to feel relaxed, confident, and beautiful in 2022.
Hermosa Aesthetics is an aesthetic enhancement practice located in beautiful Encinitas, CA. Founded by the husband-and-wife team of Dr. Kevin Smith and Nurse Practitioner Wendy Smith. Hermosa Aesthetics is dedicated to offering thoughtful and intentional beauty-enhancing services. Our mission is to help clients embrace their natural beauty and boost their self-confidence. We provide expert, purposeful, and balanced aesthetic services that ensure you look and feel like yourself.
Our approach to aesthetic treatments is straightforward: we do so with an understanding and respect for the natural aging process and your anatomy. It’s important to us to help you look and feel your best at any age.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not always! The struggles have ranged from lacking confidence to imposter syndrome to toxic environments to keeping up with the all the new developments while being able to know which ones are worth the hype to not having enough time in the day! Now add running a small business to the mix! I have no business background, but I have grit and passion and Ive been so blessed with amazing clients and a supporting team that the ebb and flows have been manageable on this bumpy but extremely gratifying and fun road.

We are looking forward to continued growth within our practice and ourselves. We are always excited for upcoming trainings, seminars and conferences so that we can provide you with the best care and outcomes. Our newest team member Tess just became a nurse practitioner and we are excited that she will be here more to serve our clients. We also have fun stuff planned for last quarter, members only events and botox parties!
