Community Highlights: Meet Xavier Barrett of RevBody

Today we’d like to introduce you to Xavier Barrett.

Hi Xavier, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always been passionate about fitness and helping people push past what they think they’re capable of. I started my career working in jobs like Chick-fil-A and Nike, but even during those years I was constantly training, learning, and coaching others on the side. I realized early on that movement and health were what I truly wanted to build my life around.

In 2020, I co-founded RevBody with the goal of creating more than just a gym — I wanted to create a community. When the pandemic hit, we had to pivot quickly. I began training clients online and in garage-style setups, focusing on being resourceful and continuing to serve people even in uncertain times. That period taught me resilience and the importance of showing up consistently, even when things aren’t perfect.

Over the years, RevBody grew from a small operation into a full facility with hundreds of members. I’ve had the opportunity to train a wide range of clients — from postpartum moms to competitive athletes — and I’ve also led large fitness events and HYROX-style competitions that bring people together through challenge and support.

My background in kinesiology and physical therapy has shaped the way I coach, especially with an emphasis on longevity, injury prevention, and helping people build confidence through strength. Today, I’m proud of what we’ve built, and I’m excited to keep growing as a coach, business owner, and leader in the fitness space.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not always been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been navigating financial uncertainty while continuing to lead and serve others. There have been seasons where resources were limited, payments were delayed, and I had to find ways to stay committed to my responsibilities despite the stress.

Another obstacle has been balancing the demands of running a business, supporting clients, and being present for my family, all while managing my own physical setbacks and recovery.

Through these struggles, I have learned perseverance, humility, and the importance of relying on faith, community, and consistent hard work. These experiences have strengthened my character and deepened my desire to keep moving forward with integrity and purpose.

We’ve been impressed with RevBody , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
RevBody is a fitness and performance community based in Chula Vista, California, built on the mission of helping everyday people become stronger, healthier, and more confident in their bodies. We specialize in strength training, hybrid conditioning, and functional fitness that supports real life — whether that means improving athletic performance, losing weight, building muscle, recovering from injury, or simply feeling better day to day.

What sets RevBody apart is our focus on coaching, not just workouts. Every program is designed with intention, combining proven training methods with a supportive environment where members feel seen, challenged, and encouraged. We work with a wide range of individuals — from beginners and postpartum moms to competitive athletes preparing for events like HYROX.

Our brand is built on resilience, discipline, and community. We’re most proud of the culture we’ve created: a space where people push themselves, support one another, and grow not only physically, but mentally as well. RevBody is more than a gym — it’s a place where transformation happens through consistency, accountability, and purpose-driven training.
