Today we’d like to introduce you to Czarina Luna.
Hi Czarina, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My photography journey started in the Philippines. After getting my Bachelor’s Degree In Management I started my career working at various restaurant and hotels. Those jobs didn’t make me happy so I decided to go in another direction. I met a professional photographer and videographer in an event 2009, I got so interested in their craft and started to pick up techniques and learn from them. I was exposed right away to weddings and other events. I see that being in this industry can be a mixture balance of work and play. Then, I met my husband during his brother’s wedding in the Philippines where I was one of the photographers, he petitioned me and I moved here in San Diego 2012 where we got married and this is where I started CzarinaLunaPhotography. I was doing photoshoots of family and friends for free to build my portfolio, finally everything paid off, people started booking photoshoots and weddings.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It isn’t always smooth sailing. The biggest obstacle I had was juggling my regular job as a video editor at a news station then during the weekend’s photoshoot gigs, my schedule was so hectic. There were months I had no rest days and couldn’t spend time with my husband and daughter because I was fully booked. I guess time management is the key and not spreading yourself too thin to keep that balance. Even though sometimes toddlers tend to throw tantrums during photoshoots I can manage to make them smile without anyone knowing the chaos behind the lens.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Czarina Luna Photography offers photo and video services. I specialize in weddings, events, portraits, family, kiddos and maternity photoshoots. My goal is to create beautiful photographs to understand what our lives mean to us, the beauty of life captured. One thing that I’m most proud of is through the years I’ve gained regular clients they became my friends and watch their family grow from taking photos of their wedding, maternity and family photoshoot. My understanding and keen to details always results to best outcomes. Czarina Luna Photography is known for lighting techniques and artistic taste. I always strive in bringing out the utmost beauty of my subject by crafting the best story that weaves and reflect in every photo set. In this industry, what makes me standout is my never-ending love for new things and fresh discoveries. I’m not afraid to try and create more photos and apply new techniques. My love for art that when I combine it with passion I can create immaculate photos no one could ever imagine. I always dream and pursue a beautiful world captured through the lens.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
My characteristic that I feel important to my success is creativity and imagination, finding beauty in everything and to never stop learning. I try to listen to my heart and follow my creative compulsions. Patience and flexibility is another quality because no matter how much you try to control every variable, things just won’t go your way at times. There will be days when the lighting won’t cooperate, when your models or clients will be exceptionally difficult, or when your camera just won’t give you the desired results. Being passionate about my craft, it will always shine through and reflect in my work. It takes a lot of time and effort to make it as a professional photographer, I believe the ones who do succeed and manage to make a name for themselves are those who are truly passionate about their craft.
