Today we’d like to introduce you to Allison Caffrey.
Allison, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started my lifestyle blog as a way to promote positivity. I had gone through a rough patch, where I was unsure of what to do, career-wise, and just lacked any motivation to do anything. I had always loved scrolling through Instagram and seeing all of the inspiring posts made by other fabulous creators. Then, it hit me. I wanted to do the same thing. I had always had a passion for photography, writing, and health. I finally told myself, that I could do all of the things I love the most and spread positivity and inspiration through a blog. I taught myself how to create the website, and the rest was history! I post interesting tips about Exercising, Travel, Recipes, Fashion, and Beauty! Along with that, I love to take creative photographs for my Instagram account. This blog gave me a platform and a voice to inspire others, and I would not change it for anything.
Has it been a smooth road?
It has been an extremely tough road when it came to figuring out what I wanted to do. I went to school and dabbled in three different majors. None were quite the right fit. Once I found the one that I was passionate about, it was smooth sailing from there! My advice to other women starting their journey is to follow your gut. If you like something and think that you are good enough to excel in it, then go for it. There is no use wasting time with something that doesn’t spark a fire within you.
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
Professionally, I work as a Digital Marketing Specialist. I run all aspects of the company’s social media accounts, as well as design and maintain their website. I track all of their analytics and help them grow and gain more customers.
I think what sets me apart from others is the fact that I am also a full-time student. I attend the Indiana State University Online Degree Program where I study Marketing. Having a marketing job, as well as going to school is really going to help me gain experience while working towards my degree.
Aside from that, I work when I can on my personal Lifestyle Blog, and content creating for my Instagram account.
You could say I have a full plate.
For good reason, society often focuses more on the problems rather than the opportunities that exist, because the problems need to be solved. However, we’d probably also benefit from looking for and recognizing the opportunities that women are better positioned to capitalize on. Have you discovered such opportunities?
I believe there are a ton of opportunities that women are well-positioned for! First of all, any career or opportunity that they want to pursue, they should. Passion should not be determined by gender. If you have the drive, skill, and determination to pursue your dreams, you should go for it.
