Deyna, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have been wanting to start a blog since 2 or 3 years but I never started because I thought that I did not look the part, most of the blogger I know look like models and are young. I am the complete opposite, I am in my 30’s and I do not look like a model. But the blog bug was still in my mind so last year, I decided to start my blog even though I did not look the part, I knew nothing about blogging. I’m a new mom, my daughter just turned one and I want to be a good role model to her, I want to show her you can accomplish anything you set your mind to. I had a rough start, I had to learn everything about blogging but I think after long hours and pouring myself into, it I have the hang of it. I’m still a small fish in a big pond but I think if I put in the work, I can really accomplish all my goals.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I cannot say this has been smooth sailing because I would be lying. I had to research everything. When you see a blog you make think its easy because you don’t know all the work you have to put in just to make one post. But you just have to put in the work to see result. My advise to women who want to start a blog is just start it, even if you don’t know anything. Even if you do your research, you wont know until you start, you may have have questions but they can be resolved along the way. Also reach out to other blogger to ask for advice, for the most part, I have found that they will give you advise. And my final advise is to have passion for your blog, if you just want to start a blog to learn money, you will not go far. You almost need to be obsessed with it and stay real, your readers will appreciate it…

My blog is about fashion, motherhood and my lifestyle. I want to share my struggles as a new mom and what I have learned so far, hopefully this helps someone, if I help only one mom with my advice I will be happy. I think what sets me apart is that I’m a new mom in my 30’s and I am Mexican.
