My path to running AeroMarine Products is a curvy one! I am an attorney who worked as a business litigator in San Francisco. In 2002, I took a leave of absence and came to San Diego to take care of a college friend who had stage 4 breast cancer. Three years later, I met my husband here. I focused on my entrepreneurial side and started a business planning memorials, inspired by my friend’s passing. It was interesting but too sad for me to continue. My next turn was doing research for a real estate investment firm. During that job, my dad purchased AeroMarine Products as the owner was retiring. I interned for 3 months, learning everything that I could about e-commerce and industrial chemicals. My dad’s plan was for him to run AeroMarine but when the purchase was completed on December 31, 2010, he handed me the keys and asked me to run it instead. It has been challenging and fun managing AeroMarine Products. I have an awesome team of 6 employees. We sell our products through our website, on Amazon, on eBay and at our warehouse in the Miramar area. Our customers are nationwide, as well as in Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean. I love thinking of new ways for our products to solve our customers’ problems!
Has it been a smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. However, I do not have any regrets. I now know that I can negotiate from a point of strength in almost any situation. Perseverance is key in starting a business, along with thinking about the other person before yourself. This makes a big difference in how you deal with superiors, subordinates, customers and vendors. Everyone says “learn from your mistakes”. It really is true! When I make mistakes, I strategize on how to do things differently the next time.

I manage AeroMarine Products, an e-commerce company that distributes industrial chemicals. We specialize in epoxy resins, mold making silicone and urethanes. Our customer service and technical expertise set us apart from our competition.
