Today we’d like to introduce you to Jackie Tackaberry.
Jackie, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
About 2 years ago, my best friend and I were sitting in her loft a few blocks away from Gas Lamp thinking about what kind of greater impact we could make on women. We wanted to include the generations before us and the generations to come after us. We wanted to create a space where we could encourage, motivate, and cheer on other women towards their goals and a healthier lifestyle. We wanted to campaign for the Babes, knowing everyone deserved to feel their best! That is when The Babe Campaign was born. We were (and still are!) working on our own health journeys so we learned everything we could about a healthier lifestyle, getting out of the diet scene and partnered with a health and wellness company that made it simple to guide others through. We have the Babe Campaign as a platform to bring women together, encourage and motivate no matter the stage of life you are living or the goals you are wanting to achieve.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There is no such thing as a smooth road!! Making dreams a reality is hard work. A lot of late nights and early mornings. A lot of writing and re-writing content, then re-writing again. You have to think about what areas of your life are you willing to sacrifice right now. Is it turning off the TV to put in an extra hour of work? Is it skipping a night on the town because you have goals to hit? The only thing that is going to anchor you in building a successful business is your WHY. Why did you want to start what you are creating? Why are you working so hard? What are the freedoms that you look forward to as an entrepreneur? WHY is this your dream? Anchor for that reason, as simple or complex as it may be it will be your fire and your driving force through the “hard”.
What should we know about The Babe Campaign? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We are known for helping other Babes discover confidence in their own skin again, a new generation of defining beauty! We are not a one size fits all, we are a tribe of Babes encouraging each other from across the country no matter what the goal is! We support health and wellness systems that range from healthy aging, performance, and weight loss.
Do you have any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general? What has worked well for you?
Find your people. Create connections, network with others. Even if they are not in your field, it is so important to first connect. Everyone is in the people business.
