Conversations with the Inspiring Jeanette Saucedo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeanette Saucedo.

Jeanette, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
BIO: Hi, growing up I had been introduced to massage on my head and back from my dad. He opened doors to a new world that he didn’t realize I’d turn out to become a professional holistic therapist. I am finished with the massage therapy education and I had my graduation ceremony on May 18th, 2014. I am the oldest child and I have one younger sister who has a son. I feel like I was always a part of the holistic care.

CAREER&WHY: My path took me to a massage therapy career because I want to be helping others with their body aches and pains. I enjoy what I do and that is helping others to get back in a stress-free life, I am a holistic massage therapist and a nail technician for fun. I believe that because of my mom, also being involved in the beauty industry, I grew into it and loved the idea of one day becoming a professional in the wellness and beauty industry.

Has it been a smooth road?
Definitely not a smooth rodeo, having to work for what you love is not easy. I went through a rough experience at the beginning of my education in the wellness field. With so much schooling and many classes, homework, and exams plus part-time work, it was extremely hectic for me at the age of 24. I was learning that I can go through rough days and not change the past, but there is acceptance and taking things one day at a time. I realized that school and everything involved was just one step forward into adulthood. So in other words, ladies, school is great for training you to learn how to manage the real world, handle it with logics and not feel overwhelmed or stressed about your decisions. Keep your strength balanced for your weakest times. In order to succeed your goal you will have to experience all sorts of fails and open doors to better opportunities.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into Holistic Spa Palace story. Tell us more about it.
I have been told that the neck, hands, and low back massages are favorites, lol. I have been in the field over 5 years now and I learned at one of the best schools, Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. They taught me many modalities from swedish to deep, acupressure points to hot stones, aromatherapy and dry exfoliating body wraps. I specialize in holistic wellness recovery and relaxation spa massage. Dry exfoliating body wraps are my favorite to provide.

Do you have a lesson or advice you’d like to share with young women just starting out?
Keep yourself together, understand the environment you will be in, take care of any situation with logical thinking and lastly do not overwhelm yourself. You will be fine!
