Today we’d like to introduce you to Leida Ebrahimi.
Leida, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
During my fourth year of college, I took a semester off due to medical reasons. It was at this time that I re-evaluated my objectives deciding, instead, to pursue my own business ventures. At the age of twenty-two, my business partner, Alyson Walsh, and I created a unique yet simple hairstyling salon business concept. In 2012, I opened the doors to my first ‘Blow Dry Bar’ in Walnut Creek, CA. Shortly thereafter, I expanded my business, opening another location in Danville, CA in 2015.
In addition to my salon business, I am an investor/partner of a beer and wine truck operation, The Guzzler, located in the bay area. The Guzzler is a unique “bar on wheels” inspired by the recent popularity and growth of microbreweries
In 2018, I sold my share of the salons to my business partner and set off on a new venture to San Diego. In October 2018, I invested in a spin studio, Edge Cycle, located in East Village. Edge Cycle is a 45-minute full body workout guided by heavy beats, unapologetic behavior, and rebellious mentality. We incorporate all genres of music to create a journey of sweat, dance, and connection.
Notwithstanding these accomplishments, a businesswoman is only part and parcel of who I am today. I am a proud wife and mother of two young girls, ages two and four. With the support of close family and friends, I have managed to succeed in balancing both a successful business career with loving, in-tact family affairs.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
In life, I strongly believe that nothing worthwhile comes easy. It takes hard work, determination and the support of your loved ones to follow the path to success. I have been faced with numerous challenges throughout my journey and with every business come new struggles and hurdles to conquer. It is important to turn these challenges into learning experiences in order to grow as an individual and as a business owner. Success is a product of hardships and failures. Focus on the now and less on the future, put one foot in front of the other and overcome each obstacle day by day.
What should we know about Edge Cycle? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
