Conversations with the Inspiring Liliha Rieck

Today we’d like to introduce you to Liliha Rieck.

Liliha, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Ever since I was in high school, I have been reading blogs. I was and still am COMPLETELY obsessed with blogs! I’ve always enjoyed reading other’s perspective, tips, tricks and life hacks. When I was 20, I decided to create and start my own blog. I first created “Love, Liliha” through Wix. This blog will will always have a special place in my heart but, about 8 months of blogging, I realized I needed to give my blog a complete makeover, make it incredibly clean and user friendly and make it look more professional. I began thinking of names, themes, content, aesthetic, etc… Also, I started to gather information on other website building platforms, such as Squarespace, WordPress, Weebly, etc.

After about a week of research, I decided to go with WordPress. Their website building platform, is by no means easy, but they have so many options and capabilities that the others did not. Next, I found a theme and installed it immediately. The next step was choosing a name for b\my blog because I decided NOT to keep the same name, “Love, Liliha” for two reasons. First, my name is unique. It is not the easiest to type into the Google search bar and one of my main goals was to keep this blog SUPER user friendly. Second, instead of just picking a “blog” name. I wanted to create a brand. That is my ultimate goal. I want my brand to be “me” but also something that is charming, easy to search and relates to my posts.

I love rosé. It is 100% my choice drink. ( If it is sparkling rosé, WOW, life changing ). In my opinion, rosé helps me take a break from reality, enjoy the moment and take a deep breath. This is where “Sprinkle of Rosé” came to play. Example… a sprinkle of cherries is not the whole dang bag of cherries but instead, it is the one little cherry that sits on top of your ice cream sundae. I wanted my blog to just be a sprinkle (a little) break from reality for my readers, while still keeping it intriguing with loads of content. PLUS. Rosé is pink and I love pink so, it was a total win-win situation.

At this point, I had my platform, theme and name. Next was the logo. During this step, I actually brought someone else in on the process, Elise Tello and she helped me actually design and finalize the logo, color schemes and website. BTW’s Elise is UNBELIEVABLE. She is insanely quick, such a sweetheart and know’s her stuff when it comes to website building.

After the “look” of my blog was squared away, this is when I started writing content, content and MORE CONTENT. I wanted plenty to already be on the blog, so when I launched there would be posts that were ready to be read.

So, here I am today, blogging almost everyday, brainstorming and getting ready to launch Sprinkle of Rosé as a business and loving every moment of it! It’s incredible how much you can accomplish in a year and I plan to be blogging for a very long time!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This process has been decently smooth but it is also very mentally challenging. The main struggles I have had were learning how to work the tech side of the blog. WordPress has challenged me but it really is an incredible platform for creating blogs. Another challenge I had faced was putting my “blinders” on and focusing on my own brand/blog. I love reading other blogs and taking what I like and dislike from theirs, but at the same time, you have to be careful in making sure your content is authentic to YOU! Find your own voice.

If I could share some advice to other women who are just starting, I would highly recommend planning out your launch. Go with WordPress. Pick the theme that you want your blog to resemble. REALLY think and contemplate the name. Choose a logo that you wish to carry with you for a long time. Write lots and lots of content before launching and really try and keep your content authentic to YOU and what your blog encompasses. Also, ask for help. Honestly, especially when it comes to the tech side, I had to ask for help and it was SOOO worth it!

What should we know about Sprinkle of Rosé? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Currently, I work full-time at PEP Creative which is a special event decorating company in San Diego. I started as a receptionist and was promoted a little over a year later. Now, I am the Entertainment Assistant which is where I help book artists to go out on events and I will also go onsite and “spot” the artists to make sure our client is pleased and our entertainers are good to go. Also, I am apart of PEP’s Marketing team and I am in charge of their social media channels which include Facebook and Instagram. Also, I just accepted an internship with a growing marketing company in San Diego which I am SO excited for!

This work experience has helped me grow as an employee, but also as a blogger. The dream is one day, going full-time with Sprinkle of Rosé. That is the end goal. Being in the marketing department has challenged me to research marketing strategies and really dive in and learn about the social media digital world.

I am proud that I legit, built Sprinkle of Rosé, by myself and am really making the brand mine. The blog specializes in lifestyle, beauty, fashion, photography, wellness, being married and travel.

What sets me apart from others? Well, I am my own person. I have different tips, tricks and life hacks to share with my readers. Also, I am ready and willing to go full steam ahead and create a business with the brand.

Who do you look up to? How have they inspired you?
First and foremost, my mom. I literally could go on and on with this one so, I will try to keep it abridged. Ever since I could understand how to walk and talk, my mom has been my support system, encourager, inspiration and legit, the best mom any woman could ever ask for! She always has encouraged me to follow my biggest dreams and is also helping me along the way. She has accomplished so much in her life already, all while being the mother that every little girl should be blessed with.

Second, my little Grandma Joyce. Guys, this little nugget is the cutest lady on earth. My Grandma has listened, encouraged and has never doubted that I can accomplish whatever I put my mind to. Grams has been through quite a bit in her life but even now, has the most positive attitude that anyone could ever have.

I literally could go on for 20 pages on inspirations I have had in my life, but these two, have had the largest impact on my life.
