Conversations with the Inspiring Ningrit Flud

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ningrit Flud.

Ningrit, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I was the first to graduate with a college degree from San Diego State University in my family. My mother moved from Mexico, only speaking Spanish, and married my father who lived in the U.S. After their divorce, my mother became a single mother and we experienced poverty and hardship. It was through her struggle that I learned not to give up. She persevered to provide the best life for me that she could, even if that meant working multiple jobs. She eventually became a successful business owner and a homeowner. My goal was to follow in her footsteps. Once I became a homeowner myself, I realized that I wanted to help others do the same. It is my passion to make a difference in this world by helping others achieve the “American Dream” of homeownership.

Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road. There is a lot of rejection in this world that you have to face, and it sometimes will test your character. You have to experience the struggle to know what success is. Just remember not to lose yourself in the process. Your mindset is the key to achieving your goals. Always look for the positive and keep moving forward. As Albert Einstein said, “You never fail until you stop trying.”

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am a Real Estate Agent with Windermere Homes & Estates. I guide people through the home buying/selling process as a professional who knows the market. Being an effective communicator, I listen to my client’s needs and make sure they get met. As a Certified Negotiator and Pricing Strategy Advisor, my goal is to help buyers find the perfect home for the best price and to net sellers the highest dollar amount in the shortest amount of time. The bottom line is that I will provide my client’s with outstanding personal service from start to finish, making their experience the best it can be. Windermere Homes and Estates believes in putting the client’s interests first and putting relationships before sales quotas. We are all in for our clients!

What do you feel are the biggest barriers today to female leadership, in your industry or generally?
One big barrier is that women have to take extra precaution when meeting clients alone or even when hosting Open Houses, for safety reasons.
