Today we’d like to introduce you to Rosy Crescitelli.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I am a born and bred San Diegan. I LOVE this city. I left in college to attend school out of state (where I became an elementary school teacher) and then married a Sailor (who is also from San Diego). We lived in eight different states and have four children together (two teenage girls and twin six years old boys) before moving back home. I LOVED teaching but chose to stay home with my twins once they were born. They got their first cold when they were just months old – and when I found out that they were too little to give modern medicine to I made a super dramatic post on Facebook which was answered by a friend who was just learning about Essential Oils. She came to my home, rubbed my boys feet down with oils, and they moved through their illness at world record pace AND slept through the night – so she had my attention. I ended up getting a kit of oils a couple of months later and had NO intention of growing a Network Marketing business – however, I kept having amazing results with my oils – so following in the footsteps of my friend who shared them with me – I started sharing my oils with my friends – and my business bloomed into a beautiful community of fellow people all looking to be of service to their friends and family with a set of products that legitimately make a difference.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
This road has been anything but smooth! In fact, I got a tattoo of a phoenix on my back recently to commemorate the fires I have been through – and emerged from. Military life is challenging – in every way, but the blessings that have come through the people I have met, and the lessons I have learned have refined me as a human and a business owner. Some of these blessings include – MY VAST NETWORK OF FRIENDS ALL OVER THE COUNTRY AND WORLD! Network marketing is a perfect fit for me as it has allowed for me to work from home, stay connected to the amazing people I have met, and get me out and meeting new people (all things I value greatly)! I am able to support my family in every way: emotionally, mentally, and physically with the amazing products I have access to, and financially which has afforded us an amazing lifestyle.
My advice to any woman who is starting their journey – DO WHAT YOU LOVE! It IS possible to find a job or start a business doing something that lights you up and makes your heart happy. Take the time to get clear on your passions, know what you bring to the table, and find a vocation that allows you to be fully you. When we shine our light brightly we give others permission to do the same. We all have gifts and talents and we are wired to share them with the world.
What should we know about Wholehearted Living? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
In addition to running a network marketing business, I am also a Certified Clinical Aromatherapist – I took my gifts and talents as a teacher (and learner) with me into my business so I could be of greater service to myself, my family, and anyone interested in learning more about living a more holistic lifestyle. There is so much conflicting information about the safety and efficiency of essential oils and alternative health that I needed to learn for myself and feel confident when sharing with my members. While I was in Aromatherapy Certification, I learned about the chakra system and energy healing and that set me on a whole new path. Growing up conservative Christian – I had never heard of these things – and was amazed to find God right in the center of all of it and amazed at how effective these energy modalities are in moving through memories, emotions, and traumas. I now weave my belief system in with these alternative modalities – including Human Design – a picture of the energetic blueprint of how we are created. I LOVE partnering with my business builders, friends, family, or ANYONE willing to learn more about how they are beautifully and wonderfully made. Human Design and Aromatherapy have been a powerful tool in my growth and transformation and in the lives of those I have shared it with.
Who do you look up to? How have they inspired you?
Oh my! What a charged question! I will come right out and say I have had very complicated relationships with the mothers in my life. My biological mother loved me fiercely – we lived a happy but chaotic life together in Ocean Beach, but because she struggled with addiction and I was raised by a stepmother who was the exact opposite of her. Both women taught me incredible lessons that I am still receiving gifts from – even though one of them has passed on and one of them isn’t in my life currently. I have been able to work through these lessons using the skills I have acquired and what I know about God working all things together for good.
Because of these complicated dynamics, I was always on the search for people from whom I was invited, seen, and recognized. Several people come to mind when I reflect on this question: My mom’s sister took exceptional care of me for many years of my life. I got to experience the world outside of San Diego as she invited me to accompany her and my uncle on their military moves which are still some of my favorite memories. My second-grade teacher (from Audubon Elementary) Miss Curley taught me how to read using multi-sensory learning techniques (before they were a “thing”) and poured her spirit into me which is why I became a teacher (and got my Masters in Reading Literacy). And in adulthood, I have a Mom I chose for myself. I literally call her “Mama P” – Sharon Petersen – who has always opened her door to me and generously shared her gifts, talents, and heart with me as I have walked through the darkest shadows of my life.
Last but not least my girlfriends have always played a HUGE role in every stage of my life and continue to do so. The tribe of women who have found me and loved me through it all are one of my life’s greatest blessings.
