Conversations with the Inspiring Temi Hason

Today we’d like to introduce you to Temi Hason.

Temi Hason is a Musical Theatre Performer and Cellist besides her Music Education BA originally from Turkey.

She has been playing the Cello over ten years.

Temi is in love with what she does! She says: ‘My favorite thing is to inspire people and move them, that’s why I teach and perform.’

Temi has been teaching over eight years and performing over 20 years. She has worked with all different age groups in public schools and private schools. Temi came up with the idea of ‘A Musical Home’ while she was playing with her nephew, she realized that she is using all her studies together and it is working very well and created a Music Program special for kids with the inspirations of Musical Theatre and Cello.

Temi loves working with kids! “As much as I teach them, they teach me a lot of things too,” she says.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It definitely has not been a smooth way but that’s the fun of it. Every time you fall, you rise up higher and better. You learn and you appreciate the fall even more. Since my childhood, I always thought ok this event is total coincidence that I got it, then I get to the next level of achievement and I go ok that was luck too let’s see if I can make this one. Because once you are an artist, you are always thriving for better! Kind of a melancholic funny feeling 🙂 And you become a perfectionist and there is no absolute perfection in anything so your talent and a lot of work and failure and rising is the most precious thing you can have to succeed!

What should we know about A Musical Home? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I do musical theatre, sing and act also play the Cello! I recently did ‘ONCE’ the musical which has been my dream to be in. Because besides singing acting and dancing every actor also needs to play an instrument. There is no orchestra, actors are the orchestra as well as their individual characters. So when I first saw the show, I was amazed and it became my dream to be in the show! And I did it!!!! 🙂 I auditioned for this show in different productions couple times and every-time I made it to the callbacks and the last stage of it and it didn’t work out. So I guess the production in SD was my best fit 🙂 I started crying and screaming when I received the email that I got cast!!!!!! It has been a very successful run with extending the show four times and amazing reviews and awards we won! Besides my stage career, I also created ‘A Musical Home’ which offers custom made music and Jewish experiences for kids and families between 0-5 years old. Each week we get to meet a different instrument of the orchestra! It is an amazing experience for kids and adults because we all learn together and experience it together! It’s pure joy! My background and experiences are in all different areas but I love connecting them all and creating and inspiring people! We create a community!

It would be great to hear about any apps, books, podcasts or other resources that you’ve used and would recommend to others.
I am constantly reading, listening, learning through honestly everywhere! Kids and adults are my best resources!
